Seeing people take off their masks explains a lot of the behavior and ill-conceived logic I’ve seen in other threads. Bummer. In a certain sense it’s better that I know not to waste my time anymore, but on the other hand, I wish these people didn’t have to drag politics into it and would just accept that pride is a thing people want to be able to take. Having a black guy, a gay guy, or a trans guy in a game shouldn’t have to be a political statement. You should be able to just do it. The fact that you get wound up about a black paladin is mind-blowing.

Just like IRL, I just don’t care. People are people, I don’t care who they sleep with, who they pray to, or what gender they think they are, none of that matters, it’s all just window dressing.
I care about the person they are. Are they annoying crusaders who constantly wave their flag, and find bigotry under every stone? Are they bigots who can’t let anyone else just live their life? F em, all of em, they are sucky human beings. On the other hand, if they are secure in the skin they wear, believe in letting others just live and let live, and accept the fact that we are all different, and all struggling on this voyage called life, I welcome them into my circle.
I just want to play the damn game, without having to sit through some political/social lecture, no matter who it’s from. Oh well the times we live in.

If you can’t suss why transpeople would like this questline or see this character as likeminded, I suspect you are either duller than I thought or being deliberately obtuse. Is a soul in a fantasy game’s afterlife the same as a human being that underwent transition? Of course not. Is it thematically very similar? Yes.

It’s a fantasy game. We have tentacled goat demons invading us from the sky to kill the gestating space god inside our planet. We have metal warriors turned to flesh by sentient cosmic tumors locked in an eternal struggle with the demon blood drinking alien shardlings of a giant monster built to fight a mass of overgrown plants.
But a chick becoming a dude in the afterlife is the bridge too far?
