Blizzard: RIP US-Earthfury Alliance

EF was not dead at the beginning of TBCC. It might be turning that way now for alliance.

they said dead even dude. read.

I will now pay for your sub.

The way I want you to play is as follows.

I want you to only wear a wand and a farmers cap.

I want you to only spec shadow to heal, so in between heals I want you to go into shadow form then cancel shadow form to land a heal.

I want you to only heal with rank 3 renew.

I want you to only use bubble on warrior tanks who have their first letter of the character as a “X”, if their name doesn’t start with an “X” they get no bubbles.

My last condition is you can’t accept any water from mages or mage tables, you can only buy and use level 5 water.

ok, deal. Send me CC info

No, send me your email and I will gift you game time.

I’ll just answer you because I know the history.

Earthfury started as a transfer server in Sept 2019, I came from Herod week 1 after the server opened because I didn’t like the mega server life. We had many “phases” where free transfers came in and some brought more people than others, the final one being the Incendius transfers.

For a long time, we were slightly ally-dominated. About 55 A/45 H. Ally dominated BRM/Searing Gorge in phase 2 and farmed horde going from Kargath to BRM for honor. It felt like the Skeram video in reverse and I thought about makIng a video of it. I had a horde guildie quit when it took him over an hour to get to MC.

I actually loved phase 2 but I sent much of it running around Felwood and Winterspring where I’d have 2v2s and 3v3s often so that was fun but my PVP group would get zerged, and often. After that, the ally often killed the world bosses although as horde we had some super fun long battles against the ally and sometimes won. At one point during phase 2 we had like 10 ally guilds transfer over and the server became 60 A/40 H.

Prior to the Incendius transfer, we were medium pop and not dead, but a lot of the Incendius transfers say they saved the server. Long term they probably did but they didn’t when they came over in April 2020…

This is when 30+ horde guilds and about 5 ally guilds came over from Incendius and turned everything on its head. 4 of these horde guilds claimed the World Bosses always. A lot of them were the sweaty guilds on a server that was a Dad server and did a good job on progression. So our joke about being a “dad server” whenever someone would ask if we were a dead server in chat was done. They were very determined to get the AQ gates open and they did and there’s more to that story I won’t tell.

The server was rather healthy and was 50/50 at the end of Classic which is “perfection”.

The alliance guilds that have transferred off were the original guilds to come over in Sept/Oct 2019. Most that remain today are actually new ally guilds who are probably hesitatnt to leave because they just paid money to come here like 4 months ago.

So that’s the story somewhat condensed because there is more to it of course.

TLDR: The majority of players on the original Earthfury transferred in but the server was only considered “dead” when it first opened in September 2019. Even though some people like to say it was a “dead server” at some points it wasn’t. Will it become dead after all the allies leave and the horde decides they want a bigger server too because they don’t like the horde pop? Probably at some point yes but not for a little while.

interesting. yeah from what ive seen of populations over time since the start of classic, people want to be on 75-25 or better favored for their faction.

I think I have seen there was actually a brief period before TBC where horde was actually overwhelmed enough to complain

Probably a poor choice of words on my part, I did not mean “dead” I meant ‘dead-even’ as in 50-50. Earthfury was great at TBCC and pre patch.

Interesting times…

My guild hasn’t really mentioned anything about server balance recently (but we all mostly raid-log ATM till phase 2 comes out, so that might be why). But if we have to transfer due to the imbalance i’m just gonna unsub. I’m not paying blizz $225 to keep my characters when i’m already paying them $15 a month.

Did they come to Benediction?
We have new alliance coming in daily, and more horde leaving :frowning:

Yes most of them went to Benediction. I found out that one of the guilds my ally alt is in will be transferring but not right away and to some undetermined EST PVP server, so prob Bene as well, but who knows.

An ally guild I used to raid with decided the PVP life was no longer for them and went to Atiesh. I respect them more for that personally.

They don’t care. This is how it’s always been. Big guilds move the followers follow , big streamers quit the followers with small brains quit.

Atiesh is a good server, I hope they like it there. I enjoyed my time on that server.
I just wish I could find someone to trade me gold. I have so much gold stuck there :frowning:

It’s far too late…

Offer discounted or free transfers to the lower represented faction on imbalanced realms and/or low pop realms. Increase transfer cost to $45-50 to high pop realms, or just lock them to transfers altogether.

Why would blizzard, a company who has proved time after time that all they care about anymore is money, change something that will get them paid when people transfer. The longer imbalances exist the more often people will pay for these services.

Before the Incendius transfers. That was the end
