Blizzard: RIP US-Earthfury Alliance

I mean they offered transfers because people were quitting en mass. Removing transfers doesnt stop that.

Not a fan of the 90 day probation once Iā€™ve switched. I joined one that was actively changing after coming from another unbalanced.

Something more proactive should be done, but what?

I been trying to say this since week 1ā€¦

The model was sustainableā€¦

Everyone saw Earthfury as the happening place pre TBC so we got a huge influx of terrible hordies come inā€¦ and cluttered things up. The top horde guilds pvp and pve were already established anyway so we just inherited trash that accumulatesā€¦ and the alliance is just stuck face 10 on 1 odds like on a daily basisā€¦ almost everywhere.

If Earthfury wouldā€™ve remained without transfers the server wouldā€™ve been worthy of being tolerableā€¦

But currently blizzard this is going to have a massive loss on subsā€¦

This is a self inflicting wound that blizzard doesnā€™tā€¦ nor everā€¦ have a answer for.

Players who had zero intention of quitting are quitting because their servers are dying around them. Their servers are dying because people transferred off.

Many people including myself are being cynical about it because every time a guild transfers and say 20 people decide to transfer with an average of 2 chars each Blizzard is bringing $1000 at least. So Blizzard is paid for their inaction.

Plus the end result of a few single faction megaservers is there is no longer choice anymore. You canā€™t be on a smaller relatively balanced server - or actually a small server at all - because it doesnā€™t exist. So choice for players is completely removed.

Iā€™ll quit before I pay blizzard for all my characters.

The least they could do is a ā€œxfer serverā€ option that includes multiple characters. Itā€™s always surprising to me to see how many people on the forums are okay with this. Blizzard is making you pay, for servers they ruined. This didnā€™t happen naturally, blizzard opened up free transfers with no restrictions to a lot of really good servers in pre-patch, and it tipped the balance on almost all of them.

Free Xfers off high pop realms to lower realms (with restrictions for horde/alliance).
Reduce the 90 day penalty to 2-3 weeks max.
Donā€™t allow transfers to servers with factions that have over 60% of the population (paid or not)
Merge servers that are entirely dead, or offer free xfers and an announcement to close the server (we donā€™t need dead servers for a game that will continuously lose players naturally, these players should be welcomed into other low pop servers).

they arent changing factions, theyre just moving servers lol

Yeah it sucks. Blizz doesnā€™t care.

is Blizzardā€™s lovechild affected? no?
then lmaoxd good luck alliance player only horde gets stuff from daddy blizzard

Herod went from 30~% ally to 0 in 1 week when everyone Xferred to Bene after being 60-40 horde near all Classic

its just how it goes when the only option is to find a new server since blizz wont do a thing about it

this is top tier Denialium

Let me guess, youā€™re all dogpiling over to Benediction?

They should unlock PVE to PVP transfers. Thatā€™s all they need to do.

I agree. You have a point about the group transfers too. I could list a dozen options that Blizzard could take to help with server issues and some people would shut every one down. On top of that, some people see no issue with Blizzard raking in the transfer money and with them being completely inactive on this.

These types of comments are in every thread about server issues and we often have the same people requesting really petty game changes or getting upset over things like warlocks using lifetap, all while totally discounting players who are having real issues.

Iā€™ve long since said if my server (in this case Earthfury) goes to hell Iā€™m done with TBCC but Iā€™m definitely committed to raiding with my horde guild so Iā€™ll stay for them anyway (horde should be ok for now). Iā€™m also really committed to a few ally friends so this is making the whole thing very tough for me. Server issues are all super disappointing to me, to other people on EF, and to people on many, many other servers. I also know multiple people who have quit the game over server issues.

Itā€™s a countdown to dead. It just is what it is. Feels like there are more rumors and then voes to leave every day.

Blizzard doesnā€™t do anything about faction balance theyā€™re even on record saying that itā€™s a player made issue.

Yeah itā€™s hard to remain positive about any of it. Iā€™m playing WoW to have fun not to go through problems that feel a lot like real life problems where I have to sit here and try to figure out what Iā€™m doing next. The same goes for a lot of people Iā€™m sure. itā€™s super annoying. A video game isnā€™t supposed to be depressing.

I think once the dailies come out all these imbalance servers are going to be transferring

I have some questions, why are your guilds leaving? what fuels their decision? If players are leaving and choosing to transfer elsewhere Blizzard isnā€™t making that decision for them, so whatā€™s the motivation?

Because all the raid content is not possible to access without trying to get through a narrow choke point or respawning outside.

They are leaving right now because they are worried that they will be left behind and things getting worse. Thatā€™s pretty much it. I posted more on the other thread, Iā€™ll just share it in this one:

Iā€™ve learned a lot more about this story since these bigger long-term guilds transferred off. Thereā€™s more to it than the reasons given (reasons given: server recruitment pool not being good and newer transfers into EF speaking languages that are not English with even more racist stuff Iā€™m not repeating) as well as the obvious reasons the outnumbered side has on PVP servers (too many horde on the server, fears of T5 raid/daily camping).

The more in-depth info is these guilds were not planning to leave. The initial reasons why they left were more due to guild leaderships romantic desires and a follower mentality from the guild members (solidified by the things mentioned in the first paragraph) with a ton, and I mean a TON of craziness thrown in. To the point where if I shared the whole story people would probably think Iā€™m making it all up. However, there is proof of all of it.
