Because things have been that way for so long and people are usually resistant to change of any kind. Anyone who grew up in the 90âs would know what a different world it was, it has all been quite an adjustment. Some of the things people joked about back then would be considered taboo today.
I could understand an inappropriate joke⊠but it is always something extreme(case in point). How you could treat a stranger/workmate like that is beyond me.
I mean is it like power going to peopleâs heads or something?
I donât know either, I would never treat anyone like that, it makes me feel sick to my stomach hearing this type of stuff.
That right there says:
Yeah all this is true, but it was a while ago⊠trust us⊠we fixed it once we found out people were looking.
That pretty much sums up every politician in the state, but letâs not pretend thatâs the thing thatâs driving people out of California.
That statementâŠwowâŠit starts out like like a communist manifesto. And people wonder why I came the the conclusions I did about Blizzard and post modernism.
YOU CAN"T MAKE THE COLLECTIVE HAPPY. STOP PANDERING TO THEIR IDEALS! You will only make it worse by acknowledging them. Stop making their narrative for them
It appears that youâd rather defend a company that has proven allegations (that s***cide discussed in the complaint was a documented police filing FWIW) immediately over a state that has performed a two year investigation that has public officials all over it and runs the risk of losing a huge corporationâs taxes/business out of their state?
As a wife of an attorney, it my understanding that an attorney should reject all accusations whether they are true or not initially before discovery and trial (which ofc was done as damage control from Blizz immediately in their response; they are diverting blame the entire time). And if the law isnât on your side, well, you dazzle your audience. Read Blizzardâs statement again and tell me that isnât distractions and dazzling, cause it sure looks like it to me.
Iâm not saying Blizzard is guilty, they still need to defend themselves in court. But it certainly doesnât look good and I think itâs ridiculous you feel that the state of California would file this without any merit or truth to it.
Wow. What do you do?
I am reminded of the Garrosh Cinematic to be honest.
If Blizzard prevails legally, then when all is said and done, they should sue California for defamation. Oh and remember Blizzard. Be sure to clean house as well. You know how to do that. It starts with removing the people who have brought this cancer upon you and are trying to oust all of the older employees.
If these charges are false then the people which are bringing them forth; need to be put in their place and put out of your studio. Blizzard is one of the few companies that has the ability and resources to do it.
As for all the people spamming the same topic ad infinitum, please put your money where your mouth is, stop posturing and do something about it. Let those who want to be fair-weather friends, delete their accounts permanently. We all know you wonât however.
Oh wait. That isnât the goal. Subversion and submission is.
From personal experience spent fighting them, anyone in the business knows full well that the DFEH are like locusts. They merely move from one field to the next.
Today itâs Blizzard, tomorrow another American Gaming studio. In their dreams theyâd likely love to hit Square-Enix, though thatâs harder since their a Japanese company. This âisâ an American problem that Americans need to grab by the horns and face once and for all, or just acquiesce and give all of the fantasy gaming genre back to Japan for a generation or more.
For my part, until I see a verdict handed down by a judge that is NOT driven by personal politics and mob outrage, I will remain and enjoy Blizzardâs products.
I canât really respect Californian Lawyers that work for the State, especially when you see a couple of depleted syringes on the street as you enter the Bar Associationâs main building on Figueroa Street for continuing legal education.
In the words of Winston ChurchillâŠ
âYou have enemies? Good. It means you stood up for something in your life.â
Yeah, how dare those lawyers not also do the work of the groundskeepers for the Bar Association! Grr!
They canât. Their terrified of the massive homeless camp next door. The one with that guy who sees ghosts, fairies and spots, and thinks he is the rightful King of Luxembourg.
Address the log in thine eye, before you seek to remove the splinter from your brotherâs.
Ah, I see youâre not acquainted with sarcasm. My point, my guy, is that itâs not the responsibility of the lawyers of California to clean up the environment around the buildings that they use.
Also, theyâre.
To be fair the DFEH misspelled Cosby as Crosby, so cheers. Mistakes happen.
classic defense by wall of text.
anyone got a TL;DR?
I wasnât too riled up about all this, but then I read this official Blizzard response and was successfully convinced by it to cancel my subscription. Well done Blizzard PR!
Men who founded the company and remained on as leaders bad. Fault is exclusively due to their low melanin content. The DFEH implies that said men should of retired, presumably so more diverse individuals that share the DFEHâs values could run the company that said founders created back in the day.
Bear in mind however, that hiring and catering to such individuals is a major part of why Blizzard has been losing subs; and why itâs quality has dropped tremendously the last 4 years.
Official DFEH Complaint Abridged: Page 3, Line 7.
Not likely, if they are in fact found guilty they will pay the fines and continue to take HR steps to address the problems. But itâs not going to ruin them as a company.
To sum up:
âBlah blah California bad, therefore totally ignore the victims.â
I laughed reading this bit.
Gotta lay-off hundreds of people after making record profits, yo.
