Blizzard removed fun mechanics in the new raid

Well, the last time a similar mechanic was used in a raid, at least one of the two classes I referenced didn’t exist…so that mechanic didn’t exist before and has never been used in the game. I couldn’t tell you if the druid mechanic has ever been used before.

Yeah the “all druids are stuck as cats” thing was how the original fight worked.

Of course… there were no bear tanks, back then, either…

(Nor are there really any now, though, so I guess nothing’s changed.)

Comparing modern encounters with vanilla ones is so silly, though.

Back then it was “oh noes, our resto druid is stuck as a cat - he can’t innervate the priest every few minutes”.

The druid mechanic was in the original Class Call, and the Monk Mechanic is simply another recycled mechanic from a boss ability.

Again, if an addon can’t tell them what to do, people will always vouch for that mechanic’s removal.

It amazes me that people who know absolutely zero anythings about raiding choose to come and post in a thread about raiding. But whatever.

They could change the calls to something more interesting and shorter, but just axing an iconic mechanic on all difficulties seems pretty lame.

They could’ve changed them. I don’t know why something as iconic like that would get yeeted and deleted

If there’s one thing that Blizzard has unquestionably proven, it’s that they can’t come even remotely close to anything resembling balance, when it comes to the game’s many classes.

Murder.

While this is true, pretty much any spec can do like 98% of the content in this game.

And both dungeons and raids get nerfed over the tier well after they’ve been cleared.

Something something guardian sucks.

Prove me wrong? What’s the number one requirement for raiding outside of Discord again?

I am glad it was removed.

Bring the player, not the class

Recruiting can be hard, and it shouldn’t be you have to bring X class or bench X class, that just makes people playing those classes either be more desired/hard to find for raids, or feel very left out if they get benched and question why they play that class

Given the right parameters, sure.

Priests CAN do the Mythic Razsageth fight, as long as you have an Evoker to literally carry them.

Meanwhile DK’s just pop Death’s Advance on every pushback and never get moved at all.

That’s Blizzard “balance” for you. So No Thank You for mechanics like this.

(But like I said, make it an M+ seasonal affix. I’m sure that will go over well.)

While I am often down on the devs for dumbing things down, I honestly think they just had trouble balancing in this case. The skills in Vanilla were alot different and not as deadly to other players. I remember them being more of a nuisance than anything else. For instance - if I remember correctly, the hunter one was if you shot your bow during the class call it literally went to zero durability and broke so we made macros to unequip it and avoid breaking it by accident. That’s sorta different than stun locking your entire raid and wiping them.

Let’s be honest - people would have complained either way. It was pretty much a no win situation for the devs.

I agree, murder mechanics can be fun. But I prefer when you have control over your character while doing it, like the Lords of Dread in Sepulcher of the First Ones

Being able to handle multiple, overlapping mechanics while also cranking out maximum throughput.

Stupid forum…

Because the uber-l33t 1% decided they were just going to stack classes to get the easiest mechanics.

Which is why we can’t have nice things.

DBM is pretty meaningless.

But keep on proving that you don’t know anything about raiding.
