As somebody who’s raided for years, I get really sick of the armchair, spectator people talking about raiding.
I’m sure that pain-in-the-neck mechanics sound like great fun for people who don’t even raid.
But for those of us who actually do… no thank you. There are enough trash mechanics in the fights already (especially the end bosses - the last end boss that wasn’t garbage design was probably Argus).
You need the fire on the ground to deal with Jaina’s frost mechanics.
The fire comes from the ships.
The ships spawn RNG.
Sometimes there are no ships, so you can’t do the fight.
“yay” rng
Just don’t have class call intermissions on mythic. Ez Pz.
I mean, I’m armchair this patch specifically because I don’t like what Blizzard is doing. Saying “you don’t raid” supports our point, not yours. You will raid no matter what, I won’t if I don’t find it fun.
Very selective quote to use after I mentioned in the same post the boss had virtually no difficulty to begin with, so adding something while technically an increase, 0 + 1 != difficult.
The fight is easy. Its still easy in SoM. The 15 year old tank and spank with a mechanic every 30 seconds that you just heal through is not the same as this fight even without the class call additions.
Ahh, I was remembering original BWL. I never played SoM on the Classic client.
Probably trying to avoid high end guilds getting around it by stacking easier classes, and knowing that a lot of guilds wouldn’t have that capability, and devs would actually need to balance all the calls. Balancing takes too much effort, apparently.
Class calls are a raid mechanic. The first “actual” raid, given that Molten Core was a meme cave and not really a proper raid, had the class calls.
You can’t pretend raiders aren’t bigger whiners when they had one of the quintessential raid mechanics removed because it was too complicated on the penultimate boss of a raid.
Maybe…or maybe it has something to do with the disparity between druids randomly shapeshifting for 30 seconds vs. monks who summon 3 adds that attack random players and do enough damage when killed to 1-shot everybody within 10 yards.
Druids are forced into cat form, eh? Guess no Druid tanks on this fight. (Not that anybody’s really using bear tanks for anything, these days, anyway.)
