can you name a period of 2 months this year there wasn’t a controversy of some sort and mage tower is barely a controversy anyway - it is just business as usual for a group of people who can never be happy.

They aren’t obligated to constantly do stuff w/ Charity.
They did a new pet, now is when they usually put stuff on sale…
It’ll drum up some $$ because they’re a company that needs to make profit, and not be the salvation army. 
It’s not as bad as the Store Mount after the Bobby letter. They don’t care, or maybe they excuse it with the Wow Token.
Well, is it the fault of “people who can never be happy” or is it the fault of a company who can’t go two months without having some kind of controversy? Sure some people are just misanthropes but Blizz ain’t exactly innocent and deserves some of the hate it regularly gets.

in any case, they can’t delay release of a pet until people are ‘happy’. And blizzard always does things like this near the end of a quarter anyway, it is rather arrogant in fact to assume they care enough about ‘x’ randos complaint that they made a pet just to release it when that person(s) isn’t happy.

Big agree here. The idea that blizz is so scared of some people moaning on the forums about insert thing here that they release an item to distract the masses is laughable.

Nice strawman but that’s not what people are saying. The two major complaints are 1. it’s not tied to a charity, and 2. that now is not the right time to be releasing a store pet, mount, bundle, etc. You can equate it to “people not being happy” and Blizz shouldn’t cater to them or reschedule releases for how some players feel. And I don’t disagree with you in that, Blizz is a business and these releases are usually planned well in advance of when they release. Blizz doesn’t plan to have controversies going on at any time (although at this point they probably should lol) so that shouldn’t factor in for when something is released in the store shop. However, all that being said, it still feels bad when they do it amid all the nonsense they have going on. And people have a right to voice their discontent at how that makes them feel, just as you can voice your opinion.

With so little as the Shadowlands has received of content, and even with most of the staff on strike/quitting and or fired, they still managed to put something on the shop…

So blizzard does not have time to fix any of the glaring problems with the game or within the company, but they have time to design another item for the cash shop.

Whether that is fair or not I think people ignore the giant internal bureaucracy of a company like Blizzard and think these are quick turn around reactions. They probably schedule these roll outs way in advance.

Thwts only true for some of the things, like the new year mounts.
I can’t see how that would be true for the mechagon dragon or boralus boat. And recently for the things just bring added almost whilly nilly at this point.
I’m so skeptical this time around that I’m not even sure I should. Not now, at least.
I implore anyone who will buy it to just wait a little just so that the execs don’t have the chance to pad their pockets and use profits as an excuse to maintain the status quo
