This is flawed logic. The art team and the dev team are not one in the same. This pet was likely greenlit and ready to add to the store before all this mage tower nonsense.
No, it’s not flawed logic.
They are more than capable of holding off the pet until AFTER they fix the mage tower.
The pet was definitely finished a while ago, as it was datamined in the dragon deal image months ago.
However, they still CHOSE to release it right now, int he middle of the controversy.
Hell, even from a marketing standpoint, releasing it a week from today would’ve been the wise move. Because it’s 2 days before Christmas.
Then when should they release new pets? GD is always raging about one thing or another.
Wasn’t the sloth girl this year’s charity pet?
It’s sooooo cute!! I couldn’t help it I got it.
Except the last few store releases have coincided with major disruptions.
When the lawsuit first showed up, when the lawsuit got worse, and the mage tower.
that is not my point. my point is why do sometimes they have pets tied to a charity and majority of the times they don’t. that might sound absurd to you i know… especially with it being natural disasters people have no control over ontop of it being the holidays which does impact a lot of people in various ways as you know… we all don’t make billions like activision blizzard does.
oh also don’t just assume i don’t donate on my own occassion; because i do.
Imagine if new items were added between patches for in-game activities!
it’s always the middle of a controversy with you people.
While I do think Blizzard still hasn’t shaken their “Father knows best” mindset, this isn’t the issue to attack them for. It’s a pet you can buy. It’s optional. It doesn’t bother game balance. There are more pressing issues to focus on.
Oh no! In that case here’s a few charities people can donate to since Blizz dropped the ball:
Make-A-Wish: https://wish.org/
Doctors Without Borders: https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/
For Animals:
American Humane: https://www.americanhumane.org/
Your local pet shelter
Anyone else have charities that might need a hand since, you know, Blizz dropped the ball.
But how can I donate to charity if I don’t get something out of it myself?
nothing wrong with the store
girls who code dropped activision… currently with the hoopla i doubt a charity wants activison
lol, they always do this at the end of a quarter if they aren’t meeting targets - Dec 31 is year end.
It is hilarious that you think they care that much about people being angry about something, that is a constant condition for some players.
What? You mean the feeling of joy in helping others isn’t enough? We’ll fine then, you can also use it as a tax exemption too. (In the US, not sure in other countries.)
Joy is nothing next to delicious pixels!
Ok? What’s wrong?
Pixelicious
Hate to break it to you OP, but most of the people who would agree with you have quit the game for the time being and can’t post on the forums. Therefore most of the replies you’re going to see are more pro Blizz and the store. Personally I agree with you and a couple of other posters, Blizz keeps releasing things during controversies so the timing feels off. Sad thing is Blizz can’t seem to not have some type of controversy going at any given time so there’s really never a good time to release something on the store lol. Anyway I’ll end up with the pet but will probably hold off until the financial quarter ends. They’ll get my money one way or another but I’m not padding a quarter where the content has been meh to non existent.
