I don’t understand your comment OP… Blizzard has put a lot of new items in their store lately (they do have to meet Q4 revenue goals you know).
Take. My. Money.
Yep. You’ll only ever know most of 'em if you get a gander at their tax returns.
??
If you like the pet, buy it. If you want to donate to Make-a-Wish, you don’t have to wait for an in-store deal. You can set up a monthly donation for an amount you’ll never miss if the charity is important to you. Most charities will tell you that it’s not the one-time huge donations that keep a charity running. It’s the small monthly donations from an army of individual givers that keep the lights on.
There is never a time when the forums are not mad about something. In addition, when you see a an item hit the store, that item was made and its release was planned for at LEAST a year ago.
Yes. How quickly they forget.
It’s not just the forums it’s everywhere and rightfully earned. Every week there has been something new and it’s usually disgusting that was covered up at blizzard HQ. I’m hoping for change in the company and leadership in 2022.
Why keep releasing new store pets/mounts and not adding them into the game? Why focus this when their employees are upset/wanting change? Just makes them look like .
I support all non-charity store items! I wait until after charity periods to buy them anyway.
I don’t mind shop items. I have to start by stating that. Honestly, they should put more in the store because if that keeps revenue flowing to developing WoW, I’m good with it. In the decade-ish that we’ve had shop items available, they’ve never given armor sets or anything with player power on it, so I’m good with the store.
I don’t like the tokens, but I have friends who wouldn’t play the game at all if they couldn’t pay for it in gold, so I see the other side of it. Pets and mounts and mogs, though? Heck yes. Keep 'em coming.
HAVING SAID THAT: I will say I think it’s beyond tacky that there’s a cute new shop pet out for Christmas time but there’s no new ingame pet or similarly enticing item for Winter Veil ingame.
Come on man. The team working on pets is not the same team working on the situation at the company. Surely you know this.
dang it. i must be a whale, cause that is tempting!
A lot of people on these forums (and who take the clickbait from the streamers who capitalize on the 6-month shop mount cycle every time)…do not know that.
They have been informed by a dude on YouTube that they should be angry about shop items and that it detracts from the game’s development every time a shop item is added. So. They are obediently angry.
Its more of I want the pet but I would rather not increase Blizzard’s profit/not increase it as much. If this was one of their charity pets it would be me hitting two birds with one stone.
Why?
This makes zero sense. Like, if you’re mad enough at Blizzard that you don’t want to give them any money or you want them to fail or you want WoW to end…why do you give them money to play each month?
I’m not being a jerk. I don’t get what you mean/what the goal is and would like to understand what your thinking is here.
Or I would prefer a middle ground. I still like the game enough to not want it to fail but not invested enough to want to buy the pet if there isnt a good enough reason.(either an actual sale or a charity attached)
Adding this one to the shopping list. It’ll compliment the Fae Dragon mount.
Do you honestly think the art team and the dev and legal teams are the same thing?
Uh no I follow the news lmao. Think I need someone to tell me how I feel? I’m not ignorant I read the articles I read Jason’s tweets, I listen to ex-employees. The company is a dumpster fire and the fact people put more money in the companies pocket as it currently stands is very immoral imo. You do you but I highly disagree. I came back with gold just to check out SoM. I have no desire to kick any money towards them knowing employees have been in danger and left on ignored by the leadership appointed to steer them in the good direction, and protect them.
The people who make the stuff for the shop are not the same people who fix the bugs.
Different teams, different workloads.
Not that I imagine you’ll consider that.
Like many other topics, people on the forums don’t understand the economics of labor…
Specifically, there are only so many people you can assign to a project before you actually start slowing things down
For some reason they believe that everyone at Blizz should be focused on the same thing…which would only make things much worse
That’s valid, and you don’t have to justify it to anyone.
I’m in the exact same boat.
you honestly think the art team and the dev and legal teams are the same thing?
They all get paid by the same accounting department.
Different teams, different workloads.
Not that I imagine you’ll consider that.
Again, all get paid by the same accounting department. Not that I imagine you comprehend that considering you don’t remotely understand how business actually works.
So you think…you know what, nevermind.

I think one thing to be angry about is that stuff keeps being added to the store and yet we still don’t have achievement rewards for mounts past 400 or toys past 400. Pets at least get achievements though doing battle achievements but we haven’t gotten a new pet achievement reward based on pets collected for ages. The biggest problem, at least in my opinion, is if we’re all paying subs, we should be earning these things in game, not swiping the old mastercard/visa/discover/etc. Now if Blizz was keeping up with rewarding players in game with achievement rewards, new pets and mounts from events (halloween, christmas, etc.) it would be a bit more bearable. But as it stands, with the lack of content SL has seen for how long it’s been out, putting stuff on the store instead of in game feels bad, and players should express their dismay at that.
