Blizzard raised sub prices for Ukraine and Turkey. Are we next?

It is, it’s the same reason the Canadian sub changed not long ago

Mmm… Turkey sub…

They increased the sub for a country attacked by Russia. I guess blizzard wants a ticket to hell

They’re just gonna go and try to find their waifu, Sylvanus, there.

Lets see, $15 a month for 18 years now. Inflation IS REAL. They shoulda raised those prices years ago, but they didn’t. They have every right to raise prices on what ever they want to, it is their game, not yours.

Yeah, that’s what usually happens with spam.

Because the world cares.

Because almost none of these players who are “outraged” about this, or anything else really, are going to unsub over it.

Since the dollar is sort of a measurement that is used as a baseline, it would only be pure greed to raise USA sub rates as long as the dollar is okay against most other currencies.

I guess you could always buy some ‘trump bucks’ and try to pay your bills with those.

And we have every right to refuse to participate. Recently I had an impulsive moment and purchased a 6 month sub during one of the deals where I could upgrade to the deluxe edition. Right after they started the caves nerfs and told us it was for our own good.

How did I fall for it yet again?

It’s strange that blizzard specifically targets Ukraine after banning ruzzian IP connections. Though it doesn’t surprise me bobby and ion drooling over that Ukraine aid, they want their cut instead of wanting to support Ukraine.

Disgusting. Like Ukrainians aren’t having a hard enough time fighting russia?

So activision is basically taking a stance against america’s allies. Activision hates america and democracy, that’s what this move says to the rest of the world.

How much russia paying management? Take any gifts from russia recently? China? Iran? Take gifts from any of our enemies? Sounds like activision needs to go on a watch list and all of its shot callers.

I’m curious if this is part of an automatic process based on currency exchange.

I have a hard time believing some bean counter at Blizzard was like “wow, we’re missing a lot of potential revenue we could be squeezing out of Ukraine right now.”

Everything is becoming more expensive. PS5 games are 70 bucks. Tears of the Kingdom was 70 too. But I have good news. Videogames are a luxury not a necessity. Some of you who have never had any real problems will be learning this the hard way soon enough. Because things arent going to get better.

If Blizzard does raise the price I can only imagine the state of these forums as those that bought the one year deal back in December or January essentially have a locked-in price until the end of this year while others have to pay more for the same month(s). Perhaps a price increase next February? If that looks optimistic - like I’m hoping for it - it’s probably because it is since I’m dying for an excuse to drop the last Blizzard game I still play.

If the price of subscription had kept up with inflation we’d be paying about 24.15 USD today. I think they’re well within their rights for a price increase? Will they? Well the dev team needs to keep up those Maserati payments.

don’t forget the bacon

While this may be accurate I do think it’s in poor taste for a country ravaged and embroiled in a war to deal with this now. I think it looks bad on Blizzard and that a multi-billion dollar company like Activision-Blizzard could have held off/gave them a break for a while.

Just kinda gross.

Inflation

As long as people stop going for Starbucks/Doordash lunches and keep the extra $10+ for a day they can afford the $70 AAA games
