I would imagine because of all the complaints MMR will be super inflated causing everyone to get their rating & there will be way, way more gladiators which isn’t a bad thing. we need people to queue the heck up. dead seasons are miserable for everyone.

mmr is half of it and the other half is low participation until the end/0 incentive to q all season.

why the hell am I wasting my time pushing glad early/mid season fighting multi r1, awc teams who are total degenerates that q 12 hours a day 6 days a week like Nahj in between 2200-2400ish and sweating out the 50 wins and dealing with whatever tier set/vault RNG bullcrap when I can:

Play other games the entire time or do literally any other hobby, wait until the last month or 2 weeks of season and do it wayyy faster.

every duelist bracket has been full of R1, multi R1, & AWC (or runner up) players for weeks now. very, very few people are playing at their own rating right now and for obvious reasons they either quit or on a break until some magical s4 fixes/TWW.

All of their efforts and resources are going into the next xpac. They hardly know we exist right now. I imagine because of the pressure being put onto the devs from the higher ups.

I think as a community we often forget that the devs are people too, with bosses who tell them what to do just like your boss at your job tells you what to do. They are not to blame.

I mean around 2.4 right now is insanely weird. You can just que into like full r1 teams queing on mains, alts, whatever. Then since reset, a bunch of ret/war/fw. Which make a lot of comps unplayable. But I legit don’t notice any diff in skill level between 2.1-2.4, it feels the same, which makes queing kinda odd too.

this is a massive problem and i see it as well. even solo shuffle, multi r1 and awc teams are quieing alts at 2200-2400 mmr and its kind of insane. in s1 they’d be at like 3.2k-3.6k rating on every toon, but now on alts they can’t push nearly as high since climbing is super slow and they don’t play as much as their main, so they sit around 2.2-2.4 maybe 2.5 mmr.

im sure everyone has seen people posting the lobbies where they go 3-3 and get 0/lose mmr, and those who are at higher ratings like 2500 sometimes go 4-2 and gain 0 cr multiple times in a row because the other healer is lower mmr, making it harder for these better players to push. that is insane and nobody should ever be getting 0 cr from 3-3, that needs to be giving cr, not just mmr (which in a lot of cases it doesn’t even give mmr) because climbing feels awful with no cr from 3-3, didnt even lose. how would any newer pvper be incentivized to push if that happens to them as often as it does now? its very frustrating.

in 3s its even worse, actually terrible. this is why people want s1 df ratings and shadowlands ratings to be the new norm because it creates good separation between 10-20 year pvp vets who are multi r1 players and those who are newer and barely have 1 glad to their name. even the high level pvpers say this same thing and have said it a lot already ie venruki, cdew, etc. It is 100% a problem to vs people far above your skill level and it will put people off from trying to climb when you keep running into these people.

It also de-incentivizes players pushing early into the season, for example I hit 2.1k 4 or 5 weeks into s2 and ran into venruki/dylbar and many others because they weren’t past 2.3-2.4k mmr yet. thats crazy to me.

My thought process used to be ā€˜its okay because i can learn from vsing them’ but with the way pvp is in terms of how fast damage is it has become very difficult to take anything away from those matches. i learn far more (for now) from vsing regular Mglads than multi r1s or awc players, i only learn from the r1s by watching not by vsing.

I mean, I was 19/50. Im kinda sweatin’ games because im sort of close to achieving glad, just to meet bunch of r1’s on mains, r1 on alts, an insane amount of counter comps etc. So i’ve dropped out and now it’s just w/e, not sure if i’ll push or play 3’s again this season.

If glad was easier, due to playing people who are at my level rather than a stupid amount of rank ones, then i’d probably get it and just play a lot for fun, learn and get better, aim for idk. 2.7, then higher etc. But yeah, now i’ve tanked on one of my locks, can I be bothered to get lucky with ques and climb again? Nah not really.

mmr is already pretty inflated

there’s about as many people at 2400 now as there was in s1 and we still have >6 weeks left in the season
by the end this is gonna be another meme season like last season or early sl/late bfa

doesnt matter. ties are too common to be losing mmr and not gaining cr. if you want people to play the game rather than quit out of frustration, 3-3 needs to give a small amount of cr and a small amount of mmr. thats really just how it has to be to increase pvp participation from not just healers but everyone.

The game is dead there are no new players. Its the same players just queuing on their 20 alts. That is the problem… Inflation was fine during S1 and S2 because there was many more people playing PvP. Not anymore

no it really isn’t, at least not if you want people caring enough to participate. i mean there are other ways to solve the issue, that isnt the only thing they could do ie just make it like df s1 where more people have a better chance of getting rewards because they are actually facing people closer to their skill level since the r1s and awc players are not at 2400-2500 mmr, they are way higher.
