98% of pserver players are poor Europeans who could never afford the basic $15 sub anyway. most of them barely speak english
I’m not saying you’re wrong. I just don’t know. The problem I have is anybody can say anything they want about private servers and they do. They rarely agree and their info always supports what ever point they’re trying to make. There’s no where I can look to find any data, biased or accurate, to support any of their claims.
People don’t pay to play on a private server, but most of these players spend a lot of money on items on the site…

Do you need such things? you can get experience by yourself… if you don’t want to believe in others people experience but also you’re not willing to try it yourself you might not have much of a choice here…
In the case of wotlk and the famous server… their community is really not very welcome to new players or new in the game players at all. The p2w shop also heavily carries the mentality that you should know what you’re getting into before…

It would be easier to trust other people’s experience if they agreed. I did trust other people’s experience. I was convinced against my better judgement when people were asking for Vanilla era. Then every prediction they made about it based on their experience with private servers turned out to be wrong. That’s convincing evidence that something was off in all those other people’s stories.

molten-wow, now warmane had a pretty decent cata server back in like 2012 but i think they eventually scrapped it once all the content was released. The problem is cata was tough to script because of all the phasing of quests and the general complexity of a lot of the bosses / quests. It’s why today TBC private servers still dont have a fully working Kaelthas encounter after all of these years because of the coding involved. A lot of people actually did play cata back then but yeah probably not as popular now. I also tried a warmane mists server back in 2015 which was just awful. I wouldn’t know about anything you said. I have a problem playing on the stolen intellectual property of Blizzard.
I mean, no one really gives a rip that you are sick of the spam. We are sick of not getting permanent wrath classic and getting no bloody answers from this stupid company yet.
So I say just keep protesting until blizzard gets the hint. Or at least for me, until my sub expires this time next year.

So you have a problem with playing on stolen property. But, even though I and a select amount of others are willing to pay blizzard directly to be able to play that product officially, through blizzard. You seem to have a problem with that.
Because, if blizzard won’t provide the wrath classic experience. Then we have no choice but to do it through a private server now do we.

Seems like ALL this time, I was right now.
I kept saying you all want Cata the way it was in the past, you would get it. And I was right. No prelaunch event. We just auto got the entire mog for it all… account bound too btw.
Transmog did not even come out with Cata launch the first time around. It was in the final patch and was mainly a feature that was perfected in MoP.
And guilds now all have the guild setup that was brought in during Shadowlands. And now we cant even type /groster to get it back which was a feature that was changed only in Dragonflight launch.
So what.
We have tranmog very first patch
No more prelaunch events
Account wide mounts, mogs, achieves, and pets,
Wow tokens,
no arena teams
no battelgroups
guild UI that didnt fully come in until Dragonflight
Got Heroic +
And I have the Cata CE from original Cata that I got day 1 of Cata sales. And this version of Classics is the first one to not give me my Classic pets from the CE.
Should have Lil Deathwing in Classic but I dont.
So… by all things considered. None of us are playing “Classic” WoW. By an actual definition of a classic, this is not one. What we are playing is a slightly different version of Dragonflight.
This not even CLOSE to the original version of Cata at all.
And this prelaunch event was important to the lore. It tells you why you focus so much on the Twighlight Cult in Cata, why you need to deal with all the elementals.
It helps introduce the goblins and worgens, it helps establish why Garrosh came in and wanted to have the Horde all orc with all the others removed.
And also they went to attack the Taurens too, tried to overthrow the troll isles there by plating other trolls in and then there was an uprising and the good side won.
This is not in any way shape or form, like the original version of Cata. Already there are some pretty huge, massive difference there that were not in Cata the first time around.
You’re the type of person who spammed the forums saying they would unsub cuz RDF wasn’t out in Wrath Classic first patch when it came into Wrath at the EXACT time frame that it did last time.
Don’t say how something should be if you were never there the first time around so you never knew how it was the first time around.

Lots of the private servers used to charge but then that gives any company they are poaching from a near 100% chance to sue them for every penny that they are worth so they quit doing that.
We all have our subjective interpretation of how close or far the classic version is to the original. I agree that Cata classic is pretty far from the original but imo wrath classic was just as far from the original. We also have many different reasons for playing classic. I never said I wanted Cata exactly the way it was in the past. For me the main thing was replaying these expansion with a large group of people all leveling together. MMO’s are only fun with a sufficient number of players leveling and doing dungeons and raids together. Sure you can do BC, wrath, and Cata in retail, but not with the spells and talents of the original. And not with a large group of people doing the expansions with you. In retail the vast majority is doing the current expansion and you’ll find very few doing the early expansions.
However the ol’reliable The absurd and poorly prepared dev of maintaining a classic era servers was that there was no playerbase on those servers.
Although it is all due to the problem of the Blizzard controversy and the #quitwow that happened in Shadowlands in 2020 with Classic era and Mastery season in Classic WoW.
The thing is, now the real reason is due to something else that Blizzard has not stated yet, but for the success of that server it is going to do so for a new revamp of the classic expansion.
And we will see a TBC SoD Classic, and a WotLK SoD Classic as it was with the Vanilla SoD soon.
