Blizzard pulls another scam

I logged back on to MoP today after 3 months of not logging on and my PvP server is completely dead. The only option i’m given is to move to a PvE server…. unless i pay. I have been playing wow since 2005 and i’ve seen this pattern over and over and over and over. no matter what server I’m on, it ALWAYS ends up dead and i’m “forced” to transfer off. This is them scamming their customers. I can’t imagine how much money they make off server transfers by doing this.

Your server should be connected to Grob, or at least that’s what they did with Pagle and all the other PvE servers. Although I could be wrong.

most likely its becases grob is full of alie and grobs cap at 50/50

Are you unable to move to Grobbulus? I know there were some issues with transfers from Benediction → Grobbulus. I was able to when they first offered the transfers, but not sure what things are like now. I actually uninstalled the client, but I think I still have a few tokens laying around on some alts.

I’d rather quit than not play on a PVP server, personally.
:woman_shrugging:

nah the benediction →grob move has been bugged for both factions this whole time. often neither side has been able to xfer even though only one should be locked at a time. they did reel gud at this merge.

Tbf Grobb is dead too so transferring here wouldn’t solve the dead server problem

You have a free transfer, how are they making money off of you just use the free transfer to the PvE server.

I didn’t get exactly what I wanted so it must be a scam. Quick. Call me a waaaaaambulance.

Keep up with the news when not playing. It’s not blizzard scamming its you not staying up to date on the news. The servers were merged grob is the only pvp server left.

There now you are caught up. Don’t blame blizzatd for your lack of knowledge on the current state of the game.

sorry but you were already on a pve server. a pvp server that is 100% horde or alliance is not a pvp server.

Blizzard allowed servers to collapse into mono-faction because it was profitable through transfer fees. Instead of stepping in, they let PvP realms die while players who didn’t actually want PvP rolled there and demanded safety. That’s not a player problem it’s Blizzard’s failure to enforce the rules of PvP realms.

The fix was simple: merge into one PvE mega server and one PvP mega server. Then point to the warning every PvP player accepted at character creation. Instead, Blizzard caved, monetized the chaos, and gutted the integrity of PvP servers.

No blizzard failed to regulate their game this whole mono faction server could have been prevented.

A fool and his money are easily parted

What’s that?

Players want to flock to where the populations are more bountiful so they can access the group content they desire?

Nooo… :open_mouth:

When are you, and the company, going to learn that regulating player access to servers they desire is an affront to customer service?

So someone that only ever had the desire to play Vanilla, left for a while, didn’t activate a Vanilla clone, came back to find all their data moved onto the next client…

It’s the player’s fault?

Just want to be clear here.

I don’t necessarily agree.

The mass migration that happened during TBC-Classic to those megaservers were from the popular and active guilds, PuGs, popular streamers of the time, PvEers in general.

The majority of players that followed them were just looking out for their best interests; rightfully so.

The demographics I mentioned above knew exactly what they were doing; they wanted to control the enemy faction for their own self-serving interests.

Where I do agree, is in that the server-migrants should have gone to a PvE realm if the majority of those server-migrants were primarily PvEers. I reiterate, they chose to stack the PvP servers so they could control the opposite faction.

Lol wrong!

The mass migration argument doesn’t change the core issue: every single player who rolled on a PvP server accepted the risk of PvP. Blizzard literally put a warning screen in front of them at character creation. They clicked “accept” and still chose to stack PvP realms.

Whether they followed guilds, streamers, or just wanted convenience, the decision was theirs. Rolling on a PvP server means acknowledging that you can be camped, ganked, or outnumbered that’s the contract.

Blizzard’s failure wasn’t the migration itself, it was ignoring their own rules and caving when players who didn’t want PvP started crying about the consequences. If the majority were PvE-focused, they should have rolled PvE. Instead, they undermined PvP servers, and Blizzard let it happen because transfers were profitable.

Bottom line: the warning was clear, the risk was accepted, and Blizzard ignored it.

I agree with your assessment but it’s still a player created issue, whether they were imprudent or not.

The company may have added fuel to the fire by trying to cash in with transfer fees, but the initial migrants chose to flood those PvP servers. The rest that followed suit may have felt compelled to do so out of fear of being left out of the game.
