Blizzard your player base likes to raid during the week more then they do on the weekend. Firelands PTR should be available for weeknight raiders, forcing PTR weekends truly alienates a large portion of your player base.
Firelands PTR truly should be open Tuesday->Sunday, leave Monday as downtime and then more PTR Tuesday->Sunday.
This is an interesting perspective. I gather this is purely speculative opinion, but since it’s worded so matter-of-factly, do you happen to have any sort of data, evidence, or really anything that supports it?
I’m more just curious, and not attempting to “attack” your opinion here. Just wondering what makes you think this, as I tend to think that the PTR is mostly for competitive, hardcore raiding guilds often who run splits and expect each raider has at least one raiding alt, so can mostly schedule their time for the PTR.
I suppose there may be some players who also just want to go in, get some free vendor gear and give it a try, and maybe that’s who you are pointing out as this “large portion of your playerbase,” whereas I would have considered this a small number, and perhaps I am mistaken, as this is definitely just a subjective opinion based on nothing in particular.
Data based on raid signups for PTR all through Wotlk and Cataclysm.
Maintained 3 25m raids during wotlk across 63 players. 1/3 of that player base was able to raid on the weekend PTR where as 100% of that player base could raid Tues-Thur.
An active member in Faerlina Guild Leads discord since early TBC, it’s a common topic every PTR.
Guilds have trouble filling weekend PTR raids and are forced to pug or cancel.
In any case, if you had just said something like “It would be nice to have the PTR open during the week, because that would make it easier for some of us to organize and play on it,” I’d probably have just given a like and moved on.
Thats not what you’ve stated, and there’s a bunch I’d like to nitpick about what you’re saying in your follow up, but I don’t know that that would be very constructive.
As a matter of course, if you extend the days and times that a limited event is available, it will be accessible to more.
