Wonder why MDI players do whatever they can to avoid being in a lizard form in their runs. Either way it’s a win.
Because breath as a walrus is about a million times more powerful?
I don’t know anything about that.
I just know that the topic of this thread is about visage; either way it seems to be preferred.
It was just a joke because you can eat a Blubbery Cupcake and play evoker as a Tuskarr.
By a small group of people on a rarely used forum. Every single person in my guild that’s rolled an evoker asks me how to turn off visage/identity because they don’t want it, so this is obviously not a full sample size on here.
These forums are just a notorious echo chamber of Karens who aren’t happy. It’s WoW Yelp up in here.
I think your guild example is more likely to be invalid sample size. There literally are people who is against the visage right here in this thread, among us. Based on the sheer amount of other threads on the forums and outside of it; a wanted stuff. It is really simple as well why. People prefer characters that resonate with them in real life. Humans/elves are a great example of this and seems like that they’re highly favoured by player count. More you lean towards obscure beast race, less participation it has outside memes like Skyrim khajiit.
EDIT: Mind my butchered sentences, Im playing solo shuffle atm.
If this is important to you, then don’t make a Dracthyr when you know how it works. It’s that simple.
This is like putting your hand on a hot stove and then complaining that it burned you.
Uhh no? I’m not complaining. I’m just keeping threads like this alive so it might have a chance of happening.
I’m more like trying to shut the oven down here.
Sorry I meant the collective “you”, it wasn’t specifically directed at you.
Yes, but if people aren’t allowed to speak their mind on the forums, what use they would have in the end? No need to be drastic and view stuff as complaining when people are just trying to push what they like.
Feel free to disagree on the visage, but we ain’t leaving.
It’s more this common theme of villainizing anyone that doesn’t participate in the echo chamber of these forums. It’s 90% visage and range threads now that we don’t have a legendary.
Someone posted a question about Aug buffs and it was the most refreshing thread I’ve seen in here in I don’t even know how long.
But anyone not agreeing with the angry mob gets you absolutely murdered on these forums, and everyone thinks it’s more important to make their own new post than to meaningfully consolidate the discussion to one.
If you all want change, everyone wanting to make their own thread is not the way to make it happen. Start deleting all the one offs you’ve all posted and stick to this one.
Same thing with the much longer range discussion. While I don’t personally want or care about either of these changes, it’s the best way for you all to get Blizzard’s attention and have a chance to be taken seriously.
This is why we keep feeding this one
Yeah I’m all for it, but we won’t make it another week or two before someone else needs to feel important and post their own.
Wow, you both just made my problem go away by denying it. Can you deny my back pain next?
I like being glib on the internet
It would only be similar if worgan was the only race that could play mage and people didnt want to play a hunched over dog.
People wanna play the new class but not look like a dracthyr because some think they are ugly
If your back pain is psychosomatic just like you are imagining your evoker model blocking visuals then yes, I absolutely can.
Would love to hear some specific mechanics you think are harder to see as an evoker.
lemme break it down for you.
Here’s roughly the average size of a small swirly blizzard has been ever so fond of lately on my evoker with no costume:
vs. my evoker with a costume:
I have difficulty seeing sometimes. Sometimes it’s less of a problem, sometimes more. Depends on some factors. It can be very difficult to notice those swirls underneath the wings and get out in time, but dramatically less so when i’m using a costume, so i always keep some handy on my bar.
I should not need to use toys to compensate for when i’m having a bad vision day. I should have the option to remain in my visage more often in combat, whenever i so choose.
if i could rip the wings off this problem would not exist, but because of them, dracthyr take up the most screen space of any race. Even without the wings they are the tallest race in the game, standing taller than even zandalari trolls.
Yeah I mean I don’t see this as actually giving you more vision of mechanics, but if you struggle with dragon form, then you struggle with it.
A much more top-down view would definitely help with this, though.
I don’t personally care if they give people the option to perma visage, even though I don’t think it makes any sense. I care more about being able to choose the race of my visage form or having it work like dragonriding manuscripts with complete body types we can unlock, like Fyrakk visage, etc.
I mean personally i like the dragon form in combat, it has nice animations. Just sometimes harder to deal with the elephant on screen.
Kinda wish they didn’t write themselves into a corner on this one and refuse to say more about it. Like… why can a dracthyr’s visage only look like a vague humanoid with scales and horns? They mentioned neltharion having a purpose for it, but what?
Even within the current framework for how it’s supposed to work, we could have alternative models to use as “body types” to match the dragon form having 4 different sizes. Like male human/female blood elf.
I wish they would have just given it more care. For how the class and race are limited to eachother, you’d think they’d continue doubling down on the customization as we move forward, but so far nothing. It’s good for me that i like the male blood elf model for the last two hero classes released, but i’d like to be given the option to branch out.
Quite literally true. I bit the bullet and play it, I like the concept of Dracthyr but I’d prefer to be able to stay in visage for a lot of the spells. The majority of my friends refuse to play Evoker – Regardless of how fun and refreshing it is – because to do so requires that you play as a Dracthyr.
i do enjoy evoker but the lame lizzardboi race rather than any kind of dragon looking form along with the god awful way transmog was done really turns me off. like they couldnt even make the tier set work is annoying cause i swore i remember ion saying something about this specifically. i feel like i see so few evokers and the few random people ive asked about why they dont play 1 usually tend to say its the transmog and the range. and with all these threads about those 2 it seems to be the common problem everyone has with them
