Running a dungeon solo won’t help you learn the mechanics, because what you have to do can be greatly influenced by what the rest of the part is doing.
It can make it easier to run with others though. Running a dungeon solo can be satisfying in itself or it can lead to ensuring smoother runs when running with others as compared to now imo.
U have thorghast
Those AI bots are all at one level of difficulty. Not that I’m against that, but there is no way that Blizzard is gonna scale all those different key levels and affix combinations for m+ dungeons with AI bots. They have a hard enough time balancing classes.
I would prefer if legacy dungeons and raids had a solo option.
They’re not equal to running M+ Dungeons imo.
Doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose what the game is all about.
Dungeons and raids are about getting a bunch of friends together and having fun, making mistakes and achieving victory.
What’s the point if your all alone. There are much better solo RPGs out there with better everything.
causes skillgap.
challenge modes were cool i must admit…
i miss those seasonal rewards, some of the rarest items in the game
(that’s kinda like solo dungeons - at least they felt that way to me)
100% agree. Make this a single player game. Mmos are dead. Nobody plays mmos anymore.
Won’t speak for others…I’d take this to close out calling and broker dungeon quests. No gear…gimme the quests. I jsut want to make the quest giver happy. I currently run heroic for this as a charity.
Can I have that? Sure…197 all slots, its all yours. Unless a mog…these I may keep. If its taken 30 Necrotics to get it, yeah…I don’t like my odds for a repeat.
Its the waits for them I dislike. And sometimes you get that bad mix of people. I like my heroics chill. that 155 is clearly new here. Lets not jump on them for non fatal mishaps. Of late you get the impatient people mad they are on alts it seems.
Sorry dude…we aren’t your mythic +15000 crew. Now sit back and chill. Or get your boys to spam this dungeon with you for your memory to be happier.
lol? I think you’re in the wrong genre of game if you want it solo. maybe pick up something like console gaming? might be more up your alley.
As much as I want to agree with this, there are many reasons on why I am saying, no!
Go play Skyrim then man, you can mod it to be a completely game for what you exactly want.
I think it would be a weird experience for me to do a dungeon without a group, but I understand that some people just want to solo things. I don’t know about whether it will teach anyone proper mechanics, though. I came into WoW in BfA and I don’t think I would have learned how to dungeon if I didn’t have to learn how to function alongside the other roles in the party; whether that was DPS, Healer or Tank.
I’ve been wondering if this will ever get implemented, as was mentioned, several other MMOs have something similar.
What I’d really like is loot progression through small group content. I enjoyed scenarios in MoP for that reason. I could grab two other people, run a scenario and maybe grab a piece of loot from it. It was great.
Dungeon scaling would be cool too. I play with my sister and brother-in-law and we’ve basically been three manning dungeons. Inevitably we’ll have to grab two other randos if we want to do Mythic+ which I’m not looking forward to, considering how much of a dumpster fire this PUG community is.
It’s an option. Like running WQ and everything. IN WQ and other PVE content we have a choice; we can do them solo or run them with friends. Why not with M+?
One thing that I did like that FFXIV did in Shadowbringers was you could run their 4 man dungeons with your npc allies. For one, it was kinda nice when playing during non peak hours as it gave a way to run instant queues. There were npcs to fill each role tank/melee/ranged/heals. They would preform the mechanics properly so if you yourself weren’t sure what you should be doing you could follow suit. And if you screwed up and died. Well, that’s just on you and you weren’t Ruining the experience of other players for things you just haven’t learned yet. The nice part too was that as you just did the normal campaign you would run these dungeons with your npc pals BEFORE you could queue with other players.
It was nice since to play a different class you did not have to level a new character, so when stepping outside your main role I found this pretty valuable as honestly during instances I don’t normally play healer so I dont tend to pay too much attention to what allies are doing if everything is going smoothly, so I wouldn’t be 100% sure what different roles should be doing during mechanics. Here, I could jump in and test the waters before playing a new role I don’t normally play.
There are times where it feels like the NPCs of wow just sorta stand back and have the players do everything - here we can sorta bring them into the actual story make them partake in the events - if we want them to. We’ve got Bolvar, Thrall, Jaina, and Baine just sitting up in Oribos just doing nothing. Bolvar and Thrall could be melee or tanks, Jaina ranged dps… honestly, I have no idea wtf Baine does but I’m sure he can do something. If we eventually free Anduin - well there’s a potential healer.
Now there was a drawback to running with the NPCs. Sure, they’d follow mechanics properly but their DPS was trash. It would take significantly more time to clear a dungeon with them than it would actual players, so while yes, you could have instant queues whenever you wanted, it was going to take you a lot longer to clear even if you were running as one of the DPS and were geared Which, how I’d feel like with most people, acted like a big discouragement to simply run with just NPCs once you got a grasp of the actual dungeon.
What I’d like is practice dungeons with AI party members so you can learn the mechanics at your own convenience.
It would also be great practice for would-be healers and tanks if on occasion one of the party members were assigned as the pug idiot who ignores mechanics and stands in fire or pull extra adds.
It would teach said healers and tanks that a player dying isn’t always their fault; that some players are just a lost cause and they should prioritize healing competent members.
Edit: The rewards would have to be low or cosmetic, as practice is it’s own reward IMO.
I’m all for it.
Now let me answer as someone from the other side who raids/PVPs/M+
“Ugh, you want 'solo” content, you stupid casual, don’t you know you’re not “skilllled enough!” what, do yeeeew want gear! As if, you simply cannot do solo content and get gear! What an outrage, ban this person immediately, but don’t kick him off the game completely, we need his sub, as we don’t pay to play cause we’re faaaaar too skilled for that!" “Mommy pooopy!”
