They’re not saving or earning, they’re tanking advantage of the fact that players who’s bought gold, or early on exploited dungeon layering. There was a certain exploit early on that allowed for some really insane gold farming and if this were Vanilla it would have resulted in permanent bans.
As for the saving, even TBC gold sinks are meaningless when you’re over 100k gold, and many players are now. The gold farmers make even us wealthy of players look poor with their numerous mules.

Another good way to get people to leave is to go into TBC with a completely F’d economy from the start. It is the reason I wont be playing TBC. Population size and economy are thee most important things, and they will drop the ball on both. Won’t spend money on a broken game.

I just really hate the idea of people using Classic as a farming ground just for TBC, they try to say that’s how it was back in the day, but that IS NOT how it happened in 2004.

In Vanilla, no one knew how important professions would be in TBC.
In Vanilla, no one knew exactly what mats needed to be brought through the Dark Portal to make them insanely rich and powerful the second they walked into TBC.
The idea that people were stockpiling tens of thousands of gold back in Vanilla and making an army of profession alts in preparation for the expansion is actually insane, literally no one did this.

I understand people want to live comfortably, but if you role in TBC with 100k or more… sure you can afford your mounts for all alts, possibly profession leveling
Once you gained all of that, what do you have to work for? I guess all that’s left is Raiding/PvP but you’ll find nothing to really do other than that because you’ll have everything else and you might not play as much as you once had
