Blizzard, please do something about trust levels

I am currently working on attempting to get TL3 back after losing it a month or so ago. This will be the third time I’ve had to get it back. What has changed in the meantime, you ask? Because certainly I must’ve broken the rules and my account must’ve been actioned in order for this to occur?

Well, no. At least, I don’t think so. And that’s part of the problem.

My criticisms of these forums are wide and varied, but the opaqueness surrounding trust levels has to be one of the most needlessly frustrating things I’ve encountered during my time here. In particular, I have no idea why someone would lose trust levels when they haven’t broken any rules, leaving people scrambling to figure out how to get TLs back. The solution seems pretty easy: Don’t allow users to lose TLs without their account being appropriately actioned.

Am I off base here? Is there some key piece of information I’m missing as to why this wouldn’t be a good thing? I’m curious.

I thought to keep trust level 3 it requires a certain amount of posts or something. If you go inactive you will lose it

Mods can just turn it off if they don’t like you.

Yes, precisely. My question is this: If you’ve already met the requirements for TL3, and your account is in good standing, why does your trust level need to deteriorate at all? If I decide to stop posting for a month and then come back, am I somehow less trustworthy than I was before?

Activity requirements. Consistent posting and visiting are required to maintain trust level.

Good explanation here:

Tell Blizz you’ll buy some tokens. That should help.

This account was permabanned on the forums
Then Blizz fired 9000 people
Within a month I was unbanned and trust lvl 3
You can do it too

Oh sure. Like I said, this is my third time getting TL3 back. I’m just confused as to why TL decays without any kind of action happening on your account.

I did that… I got Trust level 3, got banned 24 hours for lewd reply. Got trust level 3 a second time, 48 hour ban for racism. I think I was close to getting it a third time, got a 72 hour ban for Hot Dog toppings thread. I gave up.

Blizzard doesn’t have 9000 employees to lay off.

Activision Blizzard barely has over 9k.

I think you need to trim a zero.

what… what is this even?

why???

Probably didn’t tie into WoW at all and thus got classified as spam.

Not sure, I see other food related topic threads get MOVED to Off Topic forums. There was no flame war or anything like that, everyone was pretty cordial and it reached 150 replies.

Someone had a particularly bad day I assume. It’s unfortunate :frowning:

I’m sure someone else has answered this, but there’s a decay aspect to the forums. If you do not keep up with your reading and posting, you can lose TL3, even though you’ve done nothing wrong and have not been actioned.

Pretty sure you don’t have to start any threads. I say that because the next thread I start will be the first, and I have TL3.

Yea I noticed I had lost TL3 a little bit ago. Didn’t get banned or anything, so I assume I simply fell behind on the TL3 requirements.

The issue, as I see it, is that these requirements aren’t listed in an officail source (I’ve had to search for user-created threads that listed the requirements) and also my progress towards said requirements isn’t shown anywhere.

Like, so I need to make more posts? Do I need to read more posts? Do I need more likes? I can’t check my progress at all.
