They upgraded content to drop current-season gear. They did not update previous season gear that people already had.
If you do LFR today, get a piece of gear, in S2 you won’t be able to upgrade its ilvl because you won’t have the crests for it. That said, Palace LFR will have a really long queue for anything except the queen (even then would be pretty long) because the gear drops from it will still be S1 item level and won’t be upgradeable, though you would be able to get the LFR tier appearances from it from the catalyst. Nerubar Palace will be the only source of S1 gear after S1 ends because world content gets updated, dungeon content gets updated, M+ gets updated, delves get updated… PvP vendors also get updated but you can’t get multiple PvE tier colors from those anyways.
The dream gear was converted to be upgraded into season 3 but still catalyzed to season 2 tier. I dont know why that is difficult for you to understand considering this is about tmog
It was converted to season 3 item levels. Meaning… you could not upgrade season 2 gear like we’ve been telling you.
There is no such thing as event gear in this season 1. There is no way to upgrade the season 1 gear from Delves or Rep Vendors in season 2. If there is no gear that is being converted, because there is no such thing as event gear in season 1, then there is no way to upgrade ilevels in season 2 from season 1 gear.
So no. You will not be upgrading anything from last season, because once a new season begins, you cannot upgrade the previous season’s gear.
You could not upgrade the item level of any season 2 DF gear. Dreamsurge gear was turned into season 3 item levels.
More likely this is a VERY bored person and this whole thread including their responses is a giant Troll. The Fact that his Posting character is a random Allied Race which starts at 10 with a randomly generated name they can easily delete is showing all kind of “Red Flags”
DreamSURGE gear… ok, now I get part of the confusion, it’s because you are using vague terms to talk about one-off weirdness. Yeah I sorta remember something with the 10.1.5 coalescence stuff because it was an in-between ilvl, and the ilvl changed when 10.2 launched?? Something like that.
It was below S3 LFR so it didn’t turn into S3 appearances. Again, not normal behavior, it was weird to even allow that stuff to be catalyzed because the general rule is that it has to be at least LFR ilvl.
The obvious intentional design is to disallow upgrades across the board. It has been wildly inconsistent with world gear. Raid/M+ gear has worked the same way every time.
