Lust, along with other utility tied to pets was used enough for Blizz to make a change to the spec.
And that doesn’t change it being reasonable for people who enjoyed having a viable no pet fantasy to be unhappy about losing that, because now either viable choice is attached to a pet fantasy.
I don’t even know what conversation you’re having with who right now.
I literally said:
Well, gee, you’re in luck.
Well, pet talent aside, I kind of agree.
The game needs another class that uses ranged weapons.
Vanilla era WoW kind of got away with it because non-Hunters would use a ranged weapon slot as a stat stick and to pull mobs and such.
Modern WoW has no such thing so we have literally 3 weapon types (Bow, Gun, Crossbow) that are ONLY used by 1 Class, and even without that class, only 2 of their specs use them.
(I also think adding Warglaives as a Demon Hunter specific weapon type was a bad call. Use the models but just call them One Handed Swords or something so we’re not introducing another item 95% of players can’t touch to loot tables. Or add them to Warrior / Monk / Shaman / Rogue as well or something.)
Well, you didnt seem to understand what people are unhappy about, because you were saying that MM is becoming a no pet spec by default, so I tried explaining that its more about the spec fantasy than the eagle not mechanically being a pet in the usual sense.
Many people in this thread seem equally confused, yours just happened to be the one I quoted I guess.
My first response to you:
That’s literally addressing that even I don’t like the eagle bs and saying I don’t know if they could do it without it or not.
Should they have tried? Probably.
I’ve been saying for weeks in all of these threads that petless isn’t even petless. It was just forced dumb eagle.
Sorry I don’t follow you for weeks and only replied to what you said on this thread.
I understand that. I was giving more information on what I’ve been saying so you understood.
And everything you quoted is me referring to our actual stabled pets. The base revamped MM is petless, not using OUR pets.
The eagle is a graphic that shows up on utility cooldowns. Not our stabled pet.
It’s called “simplifying the wording,” because otherwise, people don’t comprehend what’s being said.
I call it the petless eagle around my guildies. I tried that once here and people got all bent out of shape over it for God knows what reason.
The revamped spec does not use our stabled pets unless we take the choice node.
They did not flip flop on the revamp of MM.
THAT has been my argument in here.
Also: don’t cherry pick pieces of quotes in places.
Including quoting the blue post.
I can see how the side of MM that enjoyed the lone wolf would feel about now having their invisible eagle buddy 24/7. As someone who MM to not use a pet I’ll have to adjust but I’d prefer to not have to.
Don’t you still have Lone Wolf?
Fortunately the Sentinel hero talents have already been training me to ignore a stupid bird in the sky that I don’t want.
Best we can do is petless option for MM.
Though a bow spec for warrior and or rogue would be cool.
You still get a dumb eagle pet nobody wants forced on you.
always do this
They would simply have been without this utility entirely otherwise. You can choose not to take it while feeling exactly as you would if you were forced to not have it.
Outlaw rogue would be a good double gun range class with bard style gameplay
yes they did flip flop on the rework of MM… first it was supposed to have no pets, now you can have pets.
Owls are wise, not stupid.
Now that they are letting folks keep their pets the eagle makes even less sense. Just replace it with a spell fx at this point.
