Blizzard literally made a blue post stating that the intended changes were going through and that the utility would still be based on the eagle, but that they were allowing a choice node to bring the pet back.
All of the intended changes are going through.

I think a 4th spec for monks, a ranged DPS zen archer spec, could be neat. And might make people actually play monk. At least for a week or so before they remember “omg I’m playing a monk when did I smoke crack to make this happen?”

I would like a shrine maiden from Inuyasha like Kagome and Kikyo.
It can be a fourth priest spec or class of it’s own. Should be able to be most races if they know how to harness the light well. For Void elves and Forsaken it can be the void since in the anime of Inuyasha showed that there have been dark shrine maiden.
In the WoW version males can also do this ability not just females, Blizzard would have to give this spec or class a different name for both genders.
We do need another class to compete with hunters on ranged weapons.
that’s exactly what they wanted, it never made any sense to begin with. what blizzard just implemented was our exact argument that always made sense, all these changes can still work just fine with or without the pets… why not allow those who want to keep the pets to do so with a simple choice node?
everyone in favor or straight up removing pets with no option to keep them had no legitimate answer as to why, it was always either trolling or hunter brain as seen in this thread. MM hunters are still getting all the new changes and can function just fine without the pets. There is ZERO reason everyone has to play the way they want them to.

Because MM is going to be stuck taking the pet in PvP again now. The pet will be too valuable for base defending in blitz and too valuable for pillars/stealthers in arena.
I was thinking they should just add a new Warrior and/or Rogue spec for ranged weapons. Maybe even a 3rd DH spec for ranged weapon/fel magic.
A whole new class? I mean I’m for it but I would guess it is down the list from some of the more popular suggestions (tinker, etc.).

This is my dream. There are Demon Hunters with bows in HS.

We need two new specs for Hunters: Archers and Trappers. Archery would be MM with a pet, and honestly makes sense since a “Marksman” is a sniper, not an archer nor would they use pets and Archer would be for folks who miss old MM, and a Trapper spec that’s old SV using traps and a ranged weapon.
Add a hero talent tree that allows SV/BM to use each others weapons otherwise and call it a day.
Why would they need a new class? No one is forcing Hunters to spawn their pet.
Why would they be stuck taking the pet when all the other changes that were proposed are going to be on the spec? Some of you are angry and didn’t bother reading the PTR notes.
Or a class that is all about AOE damage.
Do you understand what a choice node is?
MM players fought to keep their pet and got it, they can’t really get mad now if people want a new ranged weapon petless spec/class added in somewhere else.
People are usually angry at others for flip flopping their issues. Either stick to a plan or don’t plan anything at all.
Blizzard isn’t any better then politicians. In which i am starting to see that now.
Some of the posts here make me feel like those of us who fought to keep pets are also the only ones who have even pushed for a new petless spec or class
You do realize the baseline MM spec is this new petless spec, right? lol

Blizzard kind of flip flop on that issue trying to keep the other half of the Hunter community happy. I was hoping for a whole new MM Hunter class, but now that idea went up in smoke.
No. They didn’t.
The base MM spec is petless. If you want to forego the petless, they added a choice node to restore pet stuff. But it is NOT the main focus of the spec.
The main focus of the spec is still, and will be, the new revamp they did to make it petless.
