I see it as bliz accidentally made a m+ season easier than they intended and now they’ve spent over a year trying to shove the cat back into the bag. But it’s impossible because the playerbase will rail endlessly whenever you attempt to take anything away from them.
Well they got a proven record us hating whenever we have fun, unintended or not lol.
I might try PTR this week with max gear and see for myself… hmmm… i hear a big problem right now throughout sources that its a very melee unfriendly season 2. Swirlie/puddle galore?
People only seem to have fun when they feel overpowered or like they’re cheating the system though. Its like the playerbase fundamentally refuses to accept now that higher difficulty should yield better reward, everything is just getting dragged down to whenever it was previously the easiest.
Hence my belief we just just scrap gearing altogether. It doesn’t work anymore, something has changed with the playerbase and there’s no longer any acceptance that you can reach a level you’re no longer comfortable and stop. Everyone has to be bis.
Very true.
Hot take but i low key missed “borrowed power” at least in terms of something like Artifact Weapons. Something i can just keep and upgrade and not have to rely on vault/drop RNG?

People find easy = fun
But for some reason refuse to run the difficulty that matches their level of “fun” and instead demands the top levels (where the best rewards are) to be brought down to their levels. And ive never understood why.
I have alts that will never leave the +8 range and will not see anything above 626 ilvl. And thats great. I like feeling OP on those characters so they stay in trivial content ranges. And its…fun.
This is probably the healthiest way to play the game. I want to be that way, but the greedy pig in me wants moar. Bigger number makes brain happy lol.
I think you all are right. I know i have power over how i perceive something, it just stinks. Idk. Still think the tuning needs a new outlook.
Nerf tanks OR healers, nerfing both was the biggest mistake.
And im the same way. But ive got characters for those specific goals too. But at the same time, i accept that i have a ceiling. And it may be lower than someone elses. Im not going to ask for someone elses ceiling to be lowered to mine, just as id hope others would ask for my ceiling to be lowered to theirs.
This is why we have multiple difficulties. Pick the one you have fun in and play it. If its not the tippy top, thats okay
Tanks didnt really get nerfed. They’re still tanky. Their sustained healing just went back to healers and thats not a bad thing. As long as i dont burn all my CDs on the opening pull, i can sustain for quite awhile. But once my tools are used up, im done for.
Thats how it should be
Edit: group content should require a group
No, I did not have as much fun in DF S3 in m+. Best seasons were DF S1 then TWW S1 for me.
At this point you’re describing TWW generally, not just the PTR…
They just need to adjust the difficulty curve to reflect the quality of rewards and the 24x7 spammable nature. If it’s at a key level rewarding mythic raid gear, then it needs to be very difficult. If it is reward normal level gear then much less so.
I just played S2 M+ dungeons, it’s easily worse than TWW S1. TWW S1 is the top 3 bottom for M+.
Last point ill make and its purely emotion driven.
Accessibility is a big deal for me, I have a special needs friend I like playing with and he really wants to rock the gilded crest levels of content with me. So Im glad we’ll have Delves to do together next season, but i know he really wants to tackle M+. Hes got a good heart and spirit and i wanna see him have fun and make friends with strangers while at the same time not getting flamed after a “bad performance”. Even if he brings a great attitude.
Again, gilded delves = good. Im happy.
Accessibility equals difficulty levels. It doesn’t mean anyone should be able to get max reward with trivial ease.
And giving more loot to delves is throwing away potential.
I know, but even more tools in game to help him out would do wonders. I know Blizz is trying with this area. Its a hard one to tackle.
But loot doesn’t count.
Delve crowd wants number to go up, and once they reached the end, people complain.
Higher ilvl = bored with higher ilvl.
More loot doesn’t solve anything for delves (since it’s seen as solo content.)
No no, I just mean the difficulty.
And idk, ive never been bored at max ilvl, thats when i sink all nighters into the game to get better because then i have no excuses like “oh its not my skill, its the ilvl”
Idk if that makes sense.
Like in season 3, I gave myself little dumb challenges for the higher keys since I didnt have the mental crutch of “being behind” in ilvl
Yea to many mid-level players think they are elitists and can do what they do in the MDI. Those are pros and we are in a PUG. Theres a big difference lmao.
Have you ever been to max ilvl?
Like, you’re not 636 yet, and that’s technically achievable right now. So arguably, you don’t care much about ilvl yourself.
No i very much do. Id love to get there but going back to the main topic. I just cant this season. I tried and tried and tried. Maybe i need a dedicated group like everyone says, but i never have had to before.
Dang out here saying special needs kids dont deserve to do end game content.
Ultimately players have their limits, and while I don’t think it’s impossible for anyone to reach the highest level of gear reward in WoW as it stands, I don’t think it makes sense for it to be the norm.
