Blizzard, most of your core classic playerbase is still waiting fresh vanilla or TBC

Classic ran it’s course, it’s over.

That’s not how businesses operate. They diversify their offerings to attract more of the market share. Before Classic existed you had nothing to offer the players that wanted to play older versions of the game. So you had three subsets of players, those that played retail and had no interest in playing a Classic game. Those that played retail and also wanted to play a Classic version of the game. And those that did not play retail and would only play a Classic version of the game.

Now, you might want to claim that the people that play retail and ALSO play Classic aren’t the core audience. That depends on what you mean by that. I am sure for you it’s about segmenting players you disagree with from the ones you do agree with, making a no true scotsman fallacy with a lot of extra steps.

Realistically, Blizzard is a business, and therefor those can’t be separated, as even if it is one subscription, the game is not single player and doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You need enough of a population to keep the playerbase strong, if the playerbase dies even the “core classic only” players will eventually leave. Perception is important. Additionally, they monetize the game through micro purchases now too. Someone that plays both is likely to have twice the potential for purchasing additional microtransactions. Their business model is indeed designed to cater to all three player types.

Ah come on Drink. We need a version of you in all versions of the game.

Be careful what you wish for. You’d probably be one of the first ones gone if they moderated this place properly.

That’s true

Please show these statistics and sources for this.

Is 300k players poor performance? also that’s just raiders, doesn’t include other casuals.

Cata is pretty much MoP waiting room.

And apparently not many classic players want vanilla :stuck_out_tongue:

which was beaten by most of wotlk

he doesn’t want to admit that if cata has the same number that most of classic had other than the 2 week period the entire world had to go under lockdown that it too must be a failure

2k even on a fresh server is nothing in terms of a fresh economy.

You want what you want, but in the mean time there is an option even if you personally don’t enjoy that idea.

Start a true “Fresh” server and in 90 days the gold sellers and gold dkp will have destroyed it… Its already on the way for DD, you’re already late to the party and nothing will likely ever be fresh enough for you.

Comically false, I have raided open to close as a Guild master on a dozen freshes. I’m the last one out to turn off the lights usually. A new fresh every 18 months is plenty fine. Automated cycle, almost no dev involvement.

you are not talking for me ! i play wow since 2006 and never stop , paid over 4500$ in monthly fee ! i love and want cata !

Who are you to tell someone to never post on here? Joking or not, like WTH?

The funny thing is that if you got a few hundred era people you could literally make a fresh server any time you wanted using something like a hardcore mod.

Hardcore existed before an official hardcore server. Why can’t fresh exist without a fresh server? “If you’re participating you an only group with other signed up fresh from lvl 1 people, only buy their gear maybe using discord and only participate in fresh member raids.”

Why exactly do you need a fresh server? I’m sure there’s a classic person with the skill set to do this in a few months. If you got a lot of people using the mod then you’d have a point.

Cata has been fun. The issue here is just that Blizz isn’t doing at least one era server for each expansion they rerelease…it’s not harm to me if you like cata, mists, or any other expansion but I want access to my favorite expansion(s) still and Blizz isn’t allowing that.
