Blizzard, listen, the books are hurting WoW not helping it

Pandaria ends with Garrosh in chains.
Warlords starts with Garrosh in an alternate dimension.

Yeah, there really anything significant in the novels.

Same thing The Act Man said about Halo. They began stopping the lore in game on purpose that way you were forced to buy the books to know what was going on… The thing Halo and WoW both have in common…Activision. Halo just recently spit from Activision and are doing much better as a result.

Just look at all the vidoes of ex Blizzard employees speaking out against current Blizzard. Some of what they say are about the book sales being made just to give you lore that you should be getting in game.

Don’t mind about books but the implementation from important lore points from book into WoW is worse how Russia is doing in Ukraine. Since Vanilla.

What the hell is so hard to make coherent cinematics? Storytelling skills seems to be extremely low. And reason is that modern people do not read books. Concept of what is good and bad stories seems to be in strange zone aswell.

Update World of Warcraft tabletop rpg books with 5E and retro circ early 80s basic/expert rule set.

(not going to happen)

5th edition D&D? Hellno 3.5 was the pinnacle. And that came out in 2003. PC RPGs should create their own systems like WoW has. D&D is sunken ship no gaming studios should draw anything in 2022 and foward.

Larian Studios is already making huge mistake with 5th edition, abandoning day/night cycle and 4 max party. BG3 is going to be averaga and still sells millions because people don’t know better.

Opinionated? Yes.

The books are just paying 20 dollars of skippable quest dialogue

The shadow of Shadowlands and BfA will going to haunt them every step they take in the next expansion, that includes things like the books. It’s bad that it will be leaked at a time when the features of the game and how they work are not yet clear and mistrust it’s so in the skin.

But they looked for them after 2 bad expansions one after another

ah yes. charge a box price for an expansion, and a monthly subscription and you get a slice of the story pie. the rest of the slices you need to buy separately for another price.

There is no issue with books as long as the book doesn’t contain information needed to understand the overarching story of the expansion. Books should just be side stories that are sperate from the main plot. Best example of this is the Illidan novel or novels that are about specific NPCs like the Vol’Jin Shadows of the Horde novel.

Another good example is if the new novel is a story of what the Dragons were doing between Legion and Shadowlands and is like a prequel in a way.

To be honest the main plot of a prequel book for DF should really be the prepatch to explain the events of why the dragons are going back and why we are preparing to go there to help them .

Most prepatches have been between 1 to 2 months so I think they could get a good amount of the story into the prepatch .

Yeah cuz the trial of garrosh hellscream would have been sooooooooo entertaining in game

Oooo or the lava eel vore

why they’re going back? simple

blizzard got negative feedback about the cosmic storyline so they pulled some dragon isles out of their gluteus maximus

Dude the isles were mentioned way before shadowlands. They were supposed to be in the classic era of WoW

yeah but why are they doing dragon isles and dragons now? and not the next big cosmic war?

because the players hated the cosmic adventures and wanted to go back to azeroth

Same reason tv shows have “beach” episodes. A breather before plot heavy stuff

well it’ gonna be tough going from dragonflight and somehow working it into a cosmic war again. unless they are going to build it up and start again in 15.0

you cant trust these writers anymore to do anything well

Didnt stop us from going from legion to a faction war

Or MoP to WoD

funnily enough, the faction war was for no reason but to lead it to the old gods. but old gods are still azeroth. how they make the leap to shadowlands and afterlife?

I believe Blizz has said somewhere , where they would alternate between the cosmic type xpacs and the traditional explore Azeroth type ones like Dragonflight .

old gods are still void related so its still cosmic
