Blizzard kills another part of the community in 8.2

Before we begin, I’d like to state I’m not in this niche of the WoW community that this would affect.

In 8.2, Blizzard is REMOVING the Experience Eliminator buff, which means Twinks will finally be dead. You know twinks like Kamarii who twink to help people level FOR FREE? Gone.
That Twink who let Alliance finally win a BG? Gone.
Those twinks that helped you gear for raiding? Gone.
Why? I can only speculate.

Maybe it’s to sell boosts.
Maybe it’s “Evil Activision”.
Maybe its Blizzard just being plain old stupid.
But this kills a part of the community.

Essentially, this is the equivalent of Blizzard making the spells UI unable to be clicked, thus removing clickers (Or forcing you to click instead of keybinding). This is Blizzard telling us how to play. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

Maybe its there has been a problem with people exploiting a combination of tactics and Blizzard is simply removing that option?

There are players who have abused xp off + legion legendaries + bfa level scaling to sell power levelling services in game.

So, Blizzard is dropping the hammer on that and making it no longer valid.

They could have labelled it an exploit as you can’t try and say this combo was fully intended. When a 110, due to scaling, is stronger than a level 120. That can’t be intended. People had to have known something wasn’t working right.

Blizzard chose the simple option by slapping a debuff when you manually group with 110s with xp off.

if you think single player heroes win BGs with their l337 K/D ratio and killing blows and not concerted efforts and capturing objectives wins them, you are why the Alliance loses BGs.

You should make a title that says,“Blizzard loves punishing the player base for using their systems that they put in place.”

Maybe they should fix the scaling/legendaries that would be a way better way than to stop people from playing the game with other people ya know?

Oh come on, don’t be naiive.
You are perfectly aware this was done specifically to discourage the 110 twink powerleveling meta that goes against the spirit of the game.

This was gone before this change.

This can still be done as exp has no bearing on gear drops.

Wow was not founded on the idea of sitting in a dungeon afk for two hours while someone eye-beams mobs. This attempt to deflect from the fundamental reason behind this change is ridiculous.

Except they don’t sell boosts from 110-120?

This is Blizzard trying to force people to play through BFA leveling content that people find pointless. I’m against the level squish, but I’d make an exception for eliminating levels 111-120 entirely.

What I don’t understand is if it IS just to top the xp leveling runs-for-gold, why haven’t they cracked down on the guilds spamming trade chat and lfg offering carries for gold?

It has to be more than “we want to stop the leveling-for-gold twink runs” … or it’s another case of Bliz not being happy that people aren’t playing the way they want them to.

Maybe if leveling wasn’t such a nightmare now, people wouldn’t pay twinks for runs and THAT’S the issue to address?

Blizzard has known about this since the beginning of Legion. You cannot tell me they were “unaware” of this.

The level scaling they implemented in bfa affects more than just bfa content. It affects everyone from 1 to 120. Trying to adjust it without lots of work could have drastically negative consequences.

The simpler solution is what they did. “Debuff if you manually group”

You can still do your BGs with xp off and nothing will change. That’s what the XP off was primarily built for.

Everything I’ve read has stated that the buff won’t go away, but it will change to effect everyone you’re grouped with. I still see the NPC on PTR.

110 twinks can still legion twink anyway, cant get EXP if 110 is the max level you’re allowed :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a feeling I know where this is going to go…

I’ll leave this video here and leave…man, the full moon is making things weird around here:

Perhaps you should go watch the numerous videos that have come out today alone on the subject. Have your pick of Bellular, T&E, Hellscream, etc.

Deactivating legendaries like they did with artifacts weapons and old tier sets would be the simple solution, without those there would be a less lot apparent problems.

Which would negatively affect everyone from 110 to 120. Blizzard chose to let us keep them up to 116.

  1. T&E stated that they found it funny people were complaining about this change as people are going on about how important leveling to a game ala Classic, so that example DOES NOT support your opinion.

  2. I prefer to generate my own opinions.

  3. I don’t care what streamers think.

Amazing how one statement can nullify your entire argument.
