And no. Players hate flying. Thats why these past 2 expansions have been unpopular duds.
It’s not just snails… you think all those other flying things are wearing diapers as they fly over Stormwind or Org?
I don’t have to go play Cata cause I have flying in retail. Also, if flying was so bad, then why did we get:
- Flying in TBC with a chance to farm drakes
- Two types of flying in original Wrath with a chance to farm a flying horse and mim’s head
- Flying released right out of the gate in Cataclysm for all of the Azeroth zones except Exodar and SMC, and flying mounts to farm
- Two types of original flying in Pandaria one for regular riding and one for dragons, and flying mounts to farm
- Flight handed back to us in WoD with a very intense Pathfinder, and a flying mount that came with the CE
- Our mounts added to the flightpaths in Legion, and another Pathfinder
- A less restrictive Pathfinder in BfA and more flying mounts to farm
- Pathfinder and covenant flying mounts, plus mounts to farm in Shadowlands
- Dragon riding right off the rip in DF, along with free dragons, flying mounts in the CE, and more flying mounts to farm
- Pathfinder that unlocked in 12 hours, no rep requirements, more flying mounts to farm, and carrying forward the option of skyriding
Not sure what game YOU are looking at or playing, but flying being removed was reversed and regretted. So you go enjoy Classic without flying, and I will keep living the life right here in retail as I soar through these lovely skies in 95% of the game.
Oh, and just to slap the cherry on top… the revamp in Midnight will add flying to SMC, Eversong Woods, and Ghostlands as Quel’thalas springs to life to reunite ALL elves in a cross-faction city.

Flying was restricted to max lvl in TBC and cost money.
Flying was restricted in wotlk.
Flying was not restricted in CATA and that expansion had garbage leveling and garbage zones. (Also one zone was entirely underwater)
Flying was restricted in MoP.
Flying was restricted EVEN further in WoD.
And it stayed that way until DF.
and DF and TWW have absolutely garbage leveling. I garuntee the new zones are making people quit almost as often as PvP servers did.

There will always be a reason to restrict flying…because flying completely ruins all outdoor content.

Gonna have to side with OP because Sunwarmed Furline exists. Sure, we can say it’s magic. But the mount exists as a shop item. The magic doesn’t matter because there’s no basis for it. So making a pinto fly without any basis doesn’t seem like a big deal.
“But muh immersion!” Immersion is so far removed from this game this isn’t an argument anymore. Hope your cities full of brontos is immersive for you.
I like the fact that some mounts can’t fly.
Frankly, it felt quite weird to me when blizzard started to allow people to use flying mounts in locations that only allowed ground mounts like dungeons and battlegrounds.
I forget when they made this change, maybe mop or legion? Idk but I like there being some divide between flying and ground mounts.
And personally I don’t think this is really an issue because there are literally hundreds of flying mounts from players to choose from.

No reason to restrict it anymore since you get Dragon Riding at lvl 10, and most new characters will be level 10 in an hour, or start at lvl 10 as an allied race. I only have fond memories of Cata since I finally got playable, and not skinnable, Worgen, and my instant Druid flight form is amazing. Oh, and there is a difference in the definitions of “restricted” and “removed”. However, our past restictions of zones and reps are slowly being lifted, and this latest pathfinder was a 10 hour joke at best. Cold weather flying and Pandaren dragon flying restrictions have not existed in a decade. Flight will never be removed from the game. Have a great day!

i agree, some that seem like they should be ground mounts can fly. They can just make it a mount equipment if anything…
