The purpose of this discussion is to educate you that there is a flip side to every discussion.
The other side could just as easily argue that killing an unborn child is also ‘violation of human rights’.
I don’t ask you to understand or even agree with it. You can think it’s repulsive if you want, they probably think the same thing about your side.
All I ask is that you acknowledge the other side exists, and that it’s not as black and white as you may think. If it was that cut and dry, we would have come to a solution by now.
Going about politics thinking the other side is just flat out evil with no redeeming qualities and the side you are on is always objectively right is not healthy.

The point of the discussion isn’t to convince you that any one side is right, just that perceiving yourself as infallible and the other side as pure evil is an awful mindset to have.
When the other side stops attacking people for immutable facets of their life, I’ll stop thinking of the american right as anything other than the evil it is.

The difference is they’re actually attacking peoples’ rights, while holding to that tried and true victim complex of theirs.
