It’s not just lust though. It’s freedom and roar of sacrifice which aren’t big deals for the majority of content people do but at high end that stuff is needed without being penalized which is why it’s a major gain for the spec.
Lone wolf has been problematic in the fact that they can’t balance both pet and lone wolf to be close to each other.
It’s the same reason lonely winter and the first elemental were removed.
It’s not really being removed though because all of those pets can be accessed by playing Beastmastery or Survival still if having a pet/custom pet is that big of a deal to someone, honestly I find this to just be the current thing to complain about and like the water elemental for Frost Mages after it goes live and is live for a little bit it will simmer down then fade out.

Yeah no. It’s on PTR, the pet pops out when the utility is used it’s basically another murder of crows

I just want the eagle to be my pet from my stables or my primary pet and be able to still summon my pet if I want for like… Solo tanking or such. (actually I use them as distractions in pvp an awful lot I’m realizing just now…)

You’re probably right about that. It’s going to be a fading complaint at some point and I’m sure that many people will come around to actually preferring it.
I just think there were better options. However, we all know not to expect Blizzard to take the better option.

See this I can agree with you 100% on because they always take the easiest way out and laziest way out so yes totally better options but it is what it is.
If they did it properly Hunter pets could be like Warlock pets and in the barbershop but yeah unlikely, lol.

I think the main reason they are also doing it is because too many people who dont understand the spec wanna cry when they run marksman with a pet there a
dps sucks. So in order to remedy this since there are those who cant take the time to read guides. They are dumbing down the spec so hopefully those who cant seem to grasp simple spec concepts may actually understand it for once.

The mistake was dithering for years about whether MM was supposed to have a pet or not, and the easy solution is to make a decision one way or the other. Which they have.
I have time for the idea that the eagle could be made to be one of your stable pets instead, though I’m not really sure how much it will make a difference cause it’s not really a real pet. A visual glyph I suppose.
But they can’t design the class around not using a pet, and then still let you use your pet. That’s exactly how it is now, and there’s a reason they’re changing it.
