Why would you enable transfers off while transfers to and boosts are still disabled!? Skyfury just lost its sweatiest guild, Insanity. How much longer till we hang up Skyfury as another failed experiment for all the wrong reasons? Blizzard, you are actively sabotaging your fresh server without realizing it!!!
Please enable transfers to and boosts on Skyfury. Thanks!

Because Maladath was the test to see if killing a server would work.
Sorry mate, its your turn now. Blizzard didnât like how popular they were and decided to kill all of them. Youâll have close to no one playing by about Wednesday.

My turn has come and gone with Fairbanks. Blizzard has learned zero lessons.
Every day we creep closer and cleer to finding out whatâs going to happen to classic/SoM so servers being created/shut down and transfers being given out/locked will likely be something we just have to get used to. I wouldnât be surprised if theyâre trying to consolidate the server spread in preparation for SoM2/whatever.
Nah Blizzard knew what they were doing with that because theyâve done it before, they just ran the numbers and Maladath was on the hit list of communities to destroy. They donât care about anything but their numbers and donât even seem to know the server names or anything about them because they donât play.
I donât think they should have done the free transfers from Maladath thing but if they were going to they should have at least allowed fresh to fresh and allowed Maladath people to go to Skyfury which could have helped with the OPs gripe, that would require thinking about more than useless pet projects, which they dedicate all their time to and that donât improve the game at all. Going on history this is expecting too much.

I guess the players are the only ones here left to learn any lessons from this: donât roll fresh classic servers. Blizzard cannot be trusted to manage them appropriately. They are a trap set by blizzard to milk transfer bucks $$$.

It is a shame with how they are handling it. It does seem like they are intending to kill fresh realms. One way transfers, restricting boosts, and taking Joyous Journeys away. What is the difference between creating a character on a realm and transferring your character to said realm? If its on the same account, itâs still only adding 1 toon at a time to the server. On top of that nobody wants to relevel without Joyous Journeys. The concept of Skyfury/Maladath being âfreshâ is also laughable at this point in time. We are looking at a release of last august for those realms. Nothing fresh is left about them. If they donât want to continue supporting these realms then they need to make a public note of it and offer a working solution. The lack of public communication on blizzardâs part IMO is at an all time low and something needs to be done about the major issues effecting their game/community.

the players screamed for them for months.
I mean, Skyfury still has more than 5000 unique characters logging raids each week. While people may say thatâs a small or dead server in contrast to something like Benediction with over 30K unique characters logging raids on a single faction, itâs still quite a large number and would have been considered a large server during original Wrath.
Certainly some people have transferred, some have stopped playing, and many are raid logging. However, thus far Skyfury is far from a dead server. Of course, with people who incessantly complain and make it out as though it were a dead server, everytime someone has any difficulty with anything, theyâll post âDead server,â until it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Now, donât get me wrong, Iâve seen how easy it was to fill a second raid group a couple of weeks before the launch of Phase 2, and how difficult it is to keep filling that group since Ulduar launched. I am under no delusion that the booming days of the first couple of months of Fresh are still here, but I never expected that to be a constant.
Even if Skyfury does end up like so many other wasteland realms in the Classic lansdscape, it will always have been worth that fresh experience. And, even now that people are calling the server dead, I see more guilds and players that I do not recognize all over the server than those that I do.
Itâs far from dead, but people seemingly like to claim that it is, and who knows how long until their claims start ringing true?

Take advice from someone who âwasâ on Maladath. Move on, Blizzard will not help you. Donât sink with the ship. Blizzard literally does not care.

Maladath was killed by free transfers though so I donât know if itâs fair to say that Skyfury is there.
What Axxo is saying is correct, 5000 raiders is healthy and enough to play the game. You donât need 30000 to get things done when raid groups have 25 people and dungeon groups have 5. Also, things like recruitment and finding fill-ins are a problem even on the largest servers, itâs just that "the server is âdeadâ canât be used as the scapegoat for these issues anymore.
Neither of you play on Skyfury. I have no idea how 2.6k unique players log on every week because itâs 100% empty in both Orgrimmar plus Dalaran 24/7. The only time you will see other players in the cities is during prime hours (4pm to 7pm server time).

I donât play on Skyfury but not only have I been through this on my servers but I also followed server issues for over a year on here and have talked to hundreds of people about this kind of thing, how about you?
On the recruiting comment, I am currently a guild leader on Faerlina so I know all that gets talked about in the GM area of that Discord is either raid strategy or âwe canât recruitâ and sometimes after that âwe had to disband here are some raiders looking for a homeâ. The grass isnât much greener on that front, itâs just that most people donât notice when guilds die because there are too many of them to recognize.
Plus Axxo plays on Skyfury so you canât really say to him that he doesnât play there, you just had to look at the characterâs name.
Anyway, I personally never disagreed with the OP asking for boosts and transfers opened into Skyfury, instead, I said Maladath should have been offered transfers to it (as well as to the PVE servers where there would have been a choice) because both servers were both fresh.
The Classic Project is at the point where a competent IP holder would instruct the Dev team to consolidate servers. A smaller number of highly-populated servers is better overall for the average player than what we have now. BONUS: it would be easier for Trans-Blizzard to justify not having LFD/RDF, too.
(2) PVE, (2) PVP â one of each on US-East and US-West. Grobbulus (RP-PVP) is large enough to exist as its own server (US-West).
Perhaps there are enough players to support (1) additional PVE or PVP on US-East (but not both, and not RP-PVE).
