Is 20k ppl fighting 40k ppl in either skirmish or rated something thats intended? like from a game design point of view? because if it is, i would like to hear what it brings to the game.
If it isnt just freaking fix it already, its unfun for everyone involved
Just wait, it will be 20Ks fighting 60Ks before the year ends.
That is, if the fresh 60s/alts avoid pve to gear and just jump straight into trying to get honor gear (which is supposed to be the gear you get for entry level pvp). Of course, when you are trying to gear up via pve you fight “opponents” appropriate for your item level. Not true for pvp!
they should remove the honor cap
and this late into the season (and consistently going forward at week 10 or so in each season) they should remove the renown gate
but that doesn’t really change at all that if you’re full 213 gear you’re going to see a ton of players that are full 226 from 2s or rbgs at 1600 with you and it’s incredibly dumb
It wasn’t all that different in BFA. Except you had people gear up from M+ then go into arena. At least now they can gear up from strictly PvP. If you remove all gear advantages then it will go back to rock-paper-scissors and that’s boring.
I was screamed at today for being in bgs with 20k hp, they told me to go do skirmishes. I did some skirmishes and they yelled at me and told me to do bgs.
It’s not only not fun for the people gearing, it’s not fun for the people who need to suffer having 1/4th a player.
Before you RAGE CHANGE SOMETHING BLIZZARD, we don’t want pvp templates. We want entry level gear to be actually entry level. Takes like 3-5k honor to buy & fully upgrade 1 piece to the actual entry level.
I feel your pain. I have a mixture of a few basic conquest pieces with mostly upgraded honor gear. My Ilvl is about 197 in PvP gear. I have less than 30k life. Was in a random bg and another BM hunter 2 shotted me. He had almost 40k life. I thought bg’s were suppose to be regulated so players were somewhat even. NOT. I see on here some of the elite players say that better skill deserves better gear. That is fine. Blizz should scale down your “better” gear to be comparable to the players you are going against in a casual bg. The idea of the random bg’s should be so the new players can gear up. That don’t work very well when the average player is at 190 and several on the other side are above 230. They say the wait times would be unbearable if Blizz only allowed players of the same Ilvl join. Simply scale down the gear to match. They do something similar in low lvl bg’s. My lvl 51 gets bumped to 59 during the bg.
I’m not asking for gear to match the elites, just give me a fighting chance on a random bg. The only reason you join a random event designed for new players is so you can brag to your friends how easy it was to face roll a bunch of noobs. If you are truly a “better” player, you shouldn’t need all that gear in a random nonrated bg.
I’ve been working on my rogue recently. I find that if you focus on PVE first you can get about 16% vers and 29k hp if you focus on finishing your covenant quest line and upgrade to 197 ilevel gear. Also work on getting a rank 1 lego with vers in it.
I know this isn’t ideal, but with that much HP and vers you can “kinda” feel like you are doing something . I still get wrecked by fully geared 40k players but it does feel
Better in BG’s.
Don’t mind having an honor cap tbh. They could just decrease the honor expenses for the upgrades significantly and remove rating requirement for them and it would help tons of players attempting to gear alts or players that decided to jump back in the game in the long haul.
Holy hell, no. Being able to choose your stats and have a sense of progression by gearing up is integral to enjoying PvP. You add templates back and PvP will die completely. I will certainly not PvP any more.
They just screwed the scale up really badly. The top tier gear should not have more than double the entry gear hp (remember, we’re not talking a fresh 60 - we’re talking a 60 who has farmed a full set of honor gear, perhaps even upgraded some pieces).
