Blizzard incompetence at an all time high

Do we blame Microsoft now or what?

I blame the “secret” patch and MDI

Sanity check, is the game right now less balanced than either average, or mid-late season average? Maybe my standards are low but I feel like it’s better than average. Totally agree dh needs a 10% flat dmg nerf.

Yeah balance isn’t that bad to be honest.

But why does that matter?

We don’t pay monthly for next patch or next expansion. We pay for live.

In a monthly subscription game not having regular changes monthly is complete incompetence.

Literally just change some of the % of abilities. They don’t even need to think about it much. 5% change here. 5% change there.

Anyone with basic 6th grade reading comprehension could spend an hour looking at forums and metrics and do a better job.

The secret patch is already out. It’s a raid boss in Nagrand Arena called “Demon Hunter”. We’ve been fighting the boss for months and still wiping. I hope they tune the encounter soon. The mechanics are difficult to overcome.

It’s tough to metricize because the speed at which the game can be played really impacts balance just as much if not more than actual balance.

S1 ret was insanely ungodly broken- the least balanced thing to ever exist. But balance didn’t even feel terrible because any class/spec could win if they did a go correctly.

Season 2 was 100% more balanced, it just had augmentation which was SUPER dumb, even if it wasn’t necessarily broken.

S3 is REALLY close in terms of balance/power, but the game is slow enough and dh/rogue/lock (in that order imo) are capable of consistently edging out the other specs so balance feels the worst it’s been since bfa, which had a similar problem.

I blame the bots!

Bots don’t exist.

It’s probably just someone outplaying you

The only time companies listen is if we hit their pockets, but something is wrong with us so we are going to continue paying for and playing something we aren’t happy with.

Also making changes aren’t as easy as people think, there are too many modifiers. A .5% change might sound small but can either push some specs too far up or too far down.

Do we know if blizzard actually has a PvP team or not?

I blame the wand they just added it didn’t solve our problems :dracthyr_nod:

That was eye opening for me. In the past I would lose sometimes to someone way worse because burst. Now I lose always to someone my skill bc dh. For some reason I find current situation less frustrating because I can still beat the bad dh’s but you make great point

“the player base have been complaining about our lack of communication for years… so let’s go ahead and make a patch where there is zero communication! surely they’ll love it!”

Glad I could say something interesting! XD

In all seriousness, the overall meta state has a significant impact on balance that people really don’t recognize as much.

In s1, when hp was lower and damage was higher, balance outliers didnt matter nearly as much (sans 10.0.7 ret paladin obviously). No matter what comp you played, if you did your go correctly, you could win the game.

Now, when the meta is slower, even slight balance issues become WAY more impactful. Even if a class is only 5% ahead in damage or healing, every second you play the game that gap widens and they get further and further ahead. Further, if the hp pools are high enough that no one is dying even if they trade low/late (and healers have shorter trinket CDs), classes like dh and rogue/lock just win by existing and doing damage. They don’t even need to do real goes or crazy setups, they just passively win by doing a PVE rotation and trading as necessary.

I think it’s super frustrating to lose to a random burst 1shot; i cant count the number of times in slands/df ive been dominating a ret/war team and we have all their bop/bubble/trinkets etc and then I die 90-0 to two random crits and a fw kick to the head.

However, I think that game state is healthier than what we have now (closer to BFA) where a couple overtuned specs push so many classes/specs out of realistic viability.

Huge agree, this expansion has had a massively higher meta mentality. Niche specs do not excel in it at all.

Good memories from BfA where Feral was viable

I love reading Nasrajin posts. You do have a way of putting into words the annoyance we are all feeling without coming off like a maniac like some people. Definitely not me, ofc.

nah its blizzs fault for sure, over hireing and filling weird rolls like a yoga class etc. maybe now its all cleaned up and we will get some new stuff.?
