Blizzard: Ignorantly eager to kill all the success of Classic

Until those people that can only play at night when they get off work cannot even get on their server before they have to go to bed day after day… and just say “the hell with this BS” and just quit playing.

Yes, you do.

All of the servers have streamers.

Just because you don’t know the streamers, doesn’t mean they are there.

Trust me, they are, because I know some of them.

You aren’t on a BIG streamer server, you mean.

I think the big change, and it isn’t just Blizzard it’s the whole industry, is games became big business. Driven by metrics and psychology,

They aren’t made to be fun anymore. Just profitable.

Because this way makes more money. You dont spend more than you absolutely know you have to. Adding more resources because maybe you might need them is a HUGE nope in any business. Overhead has to be kept to a bare min. No different here. They anticipated needing to add servers and they are. But they certainly are not going to risk adding more than they need…that was a big mistake made last time and one that hurt retain in the long run with tons of dead serves.

im one of those, i took a week off at work. Next week if this waiting times are still like this i wont be able to play

seems rather odd the servers are so much more unstable than retail. A paranoid person might think its intentional from a arrogant company that wants people to not play classic and does everything they can to spite players that go against their “vision” of what players want.

I see your point and I agree but they don’t apply that strategy for retail as there are SO many low pop realms that they refuse to merge.

Someone needs to get a mine going to get all this salt from these forums.

Well, yes but Vanilla was was heavily scrutinized for going all in on the psychology and habit manipulation. Vanilla and now Classic were/are one of the biggest users of psychological manipulations, that’s why it was so damn addictive and you had all the criticism over people losing jobs and degrees and getting divorced over playing too much wow lol.

They could have just capped the realms at a reasonable non-insane queue cap level and added them as they were needed.

Please tell me all the streamers not on Faerlina. Who is big enough to “matter” is on Herod or Whitemane or Stalagg?

Cant merge them easily. Sounds easy but all the nuance of making people lose names and stuff keeps them from doing it. Thats why they did the server buddy thing. So people would keep names and guild names and stuff.

The bigger picture that the servers won’t have 5k+ queues for any significant amount of time. Did they really fumble, or are you and others on this forum being over dramatic because everything isn’t exactly how you want it? Are you perhaps so out of touch that you can’t see the decline in players coming? Or are you being unreasonable intentionally?

Also, the term “fan” has come from multiple different origins, not just short for fanatical. And I guess technically you could call all fans an echo chamber, but that doesn’t mean you would be right.

Giving up over something this minor already shows a lack of interest.

Bro, I’m really sorry to say this. But you don’t play much mmorpgs, do you? EVERY mmorpg release is chaotic. Queues, bugs, lag and all that stuff.

To be fair, WoW Classic’s release has been smooth so far, the queues aren’t taking too long on Thalnos server (you were warned not to play on Herod, there are plenty of realms with low-medium population).
The only “problem” with Classic’s release are the queues but that was expected from the beginning, lol.

Also, if you DC or crash you have a grace time to get back into the game. Also if you somehow crash your game during queue you will also get back into the position you were before. I had to close my game yesterday because of addons and I was in 9000 place out of 16000, when I logged back I jumped straight back to 9000.

Keep it cool, in a month or two queues will stop since a lot of people are playing because of the hype right now.

Just chill while you’re in queue.
Go take a shower, eat something, play other game (wow classic is very light and you should be able to play any other game while in queue.

Just remember this is a very anticipated game release, queues were expected lol.

Chill man

This is my queue for Blaumeux, and I’ve already been in queue for over 30 minutes.

They used to have free transfers from high pop to low pop.

The time they spend on hardware, maintenance, and R&D for their CRZ/layer systems is more than just a merge I am sure. It may take time but it’s healthier and cheaper in the long run.

Let’s be real about that though. They just wanted everyone to pay for transfers.

As for Classic, they have already researched and developed the layering system and phases. And now they are spending more time dealing with this mess and the potential refund requests flowing in that it would have made better business sense to just add the realms beforehand, capped, and spent a week merging the lows to mediums.

I think the chances of people dropping BECAUSE of the absurd queue times is a more likely scenario. Blizzard is actually making a self fulfilling prophecy.

Name reservations didnt help either.

If I’m honest, the Classic doomsayers are actually insane.

All this hoop-blah about the server queues and witnessing just how many people have gotten into the game just fine both days.

It’s one thing to say “wait your turn,” but I don’t think Blizzard is forcing this onto you in order to play retail.

I don’t think they’re out of touch - I think they all know just how popular Classic is.

WoW players, including myself, have delicate skin.

Guy 1: “…I kinda like Battle for Az-”
Guy 2: “WTF DO U MEAN U LIKE BATTLE FOR AZEROTH DONT YOU KNOW THAT AZERITE SUCKS? BLIZZARD SHILL”

Guy 2: “CLASSIC IS F’ED, BLIZZARD IS STUPID. THEY SCREWED UP THE SERVERS.”
Guy 1: “Hey man, ju-”
Guy 2: “FIF. TEEN. DOLLARS… FOR THIS!?”

Just stop. This community is a gigantic echo chamber right now, and the walls are starting to ring. People wonder why WoW players are so hated in other MMO communities… lmfao.

I’m sure they’re working on it. Give it a damn rest.
