Yeah that was almost 10 years ago.
I watched Dave’s Chapelle’s new special today on how people like yourself love to tear people down for stuff they said decades ago. Good talk.

Remember, they thought people wanted diablo on cellphones.
How does this make any sense? If we aren’t playing retail, and we come back for classic, and classic fails, we’re not going to say “aw shucks better BFA then”. Blizzard knows this just as well as the rest of us.
Honestly all of this “they’re doing it to sabotage the product/spite the players” bullcrap that’s going around this forum is incredibly childish.
THIS 100%
Remember the only thing that can kill WoW is WoW, or in this case Blizzard.
They dropped the ball with BFA, they dropped the ball with Classic launch (no launch has been this bad since…well vanilla) when PS of vanilla had hundreds of thousands of people wanting to play on a illegal server. So you’d think oh we’re about to release a legit way of playing classic, but we fubard it up sooo bad.
Yup that’s Blizzard 2014-now
Hi All,
I’ve moved to Sulfuras because the queue was too high on Whitemane. I may switch over to Whitemane if the queue subsides over the coming weeks, but we shall see.
Was that comment not a reflection of their mindset? They thought standing in a garrison and queueing for stuff was better than actually playing the game?
yea man, please tell me what server doesn’t have a que cause i can’t find one 4k + ques
Bro, if their mindset remained that we wouldn’t have Classic. Why do you keep digging your own hole?
That’s actually a really good point a relevant to just how out of touch the current people running this company are.
Queues show demand
I keep seeing people say to just go to a different server instead of waiting, the whole thing with vanilla was the adventure, the random world pvp that would break out that you would enjoy with your friends. i dont want to play vanilla as a solo player, that was never the case. If all of my friends cant be online on the same server at the same time than this whole launch is a bust, which it is.
To be fair, their only mistake with this release was forcing people to subscribe for name reservation. If they hadn’t, they would have had a much more accurate gauge of the number of total players wanting to come back.
Some of you are making some wild assumptions, just calm down. This was expected.
smolderweb, kurinnaxx, blaumeux, and more im not going to simple clicking for you I just checked again all these servers are open no queue.
Funny thing is, when he said that he was Executive Producer, now he’s the President of Blizzard…let that sink in for a second.
Most likely they know exactly what they’re doing. They want people to give up on classic and use their sub on modern WoW. They believe people will get hooked on modern WoW and become longer term players.
Which goes back to my original statement.
It was years ago.
Let it go.
I didn’t say they did this willingly. I am saying their mindset about anything not retail is bleeding over into even the classic launch. They cannot seem to fathom that a player base would want a game where there is an actual challenge in the world, where community matters and where you, as the player, matter within the world. What we have on retail is a mobile game being played on a PC. Where you don’t matter, they throw crap at you for just logging in and its full of stuff to buy from their store. That is not the wow a lot of us want and because they cannot see that, its hurting the version of wow we do want and they tried to deliver.
Retail is more challenging than Classic though?
