Blizzard, have you ever thought about letting us name our mounts?

If not, why not?

Probably because they aren’t really interactable objects like pets or minions. If you want to name your mounts, TRP3’s got a function for that if you wanted to make at hing folks could read.

I haven’t given it any thought.

If we’d just had like horse and animals I kinda get it.

I can’t wait to see people fly past me on mounts named YOUSUCK or LOLNOOBS.

Not a bad idea in concept, but the player base would ruin it pretty quickly with their
“colorful” names.

Well to be honest the simple fix is to lockout certain names just like they have in character names.

But honestly i find it kind of generic to be riding Prestigious War Steed (as an example) and perhaps most people wouldn’t care but i was curious why such a simple win wasn’t in the game.

Still bummed the bug mount you get in late BFA doesn’t keep the name you picked out for it when its a baby

I don’t think anyone wants to see wolfMCwolfface or horseMChorsey.

Have you seen what people name their pets? That’s why.

That seems the most logical answer as to why not. If you have a hunter pet, its a separate clickable object and maybe code-wise its easier to do that. Yet Warlocks can’t name their pets, so I’m not sure if there is a reason for that beyond they never did it.

The mount only appears as effectively part of the character, you can’t click on it, so not sure how you could name it, unless there was an option in the collection.

Because every mount I own would be named “Trash” except for my ZG tiger and Brewfest ram, lmao.

Even the DF riding dragons aren’t safe from that fate.

I know that you can rename battle pets, but then the name becomes account wide. If I was to name my radiated cockroach ‘Chernobyl’, then all my characters would have ‘Chernobyl’ as a pet.

I think if they allowed the naming of mounts it would probably work the same way. All my characters would then be stuck with whatever name I felt fit one character, and that might get awkward. It’s probably better we don’t name them, or keep their names in our heads.

If they ever would I’d put money on “your mom” being the #1 name for mounts.

Where would they even display the mount name to begin with?

I wish Locks could change demon names, I mean Gobpip
I can think of 10 million other names to come up with than that rando generated they stuck Locks with for demons.

They’re not separate entities. They literally only exist when we’re using them, and their name would invariably overlap with the player’s, causing confusion, so it’s not worth it.
