this bruto isnt one.
another player swaps gold for a token, and you give $$$ for that token…the gold never left the economy.
They should have done it the same as last time, but obviously lowered the price to what seems to be 1.2 - 1.5 million gold, which is a much more realistic price for a mount like this.
then some of the gold would be removed from the economy…but likely its not gonna make any difference anyway with them dumping more right back in.
Cry me a river. The last brutosaur mount was 5 mil gold thats $400-500 in tokens to buy. You dont need the mount you just want it, but want it for free. Play the game and farm enough gold to buy it if you disagree with the $90 price tag. Crying about blizzard using money grabs when you can get all store items free in game by farming gold and buying tokens off the AH to add $20 to your battle.net account.
Doesn’t feel scummy at all it’s just a mount. Who cares?
$90 is about 1.2-1.5 mil gold with the price of tokens right now. What youre saying they should have done is what they did lol.
I only speak for myself, but I’m actually kind of excited at the prospect of sinking more of my useless gold into stuff like that. I am happy that they put the mount out. I might actually start farming tokens when the price gets low and saving them up.
Did it though? Feels kind of like a middle finger to me.
I do like that they put a big “Kick Me” sign on the back of some of the other players in the form of a Brutosaur though.
What, do you feel mad every time you walk down the street and someone has a nice car?
Every time anyone has something that you don’t?
Envy isn’t good for you.
No.
No.
K.
Good talk?
Lmao bringing in the economy for this is stupid. This is a game not real life dont let the game affect your real life or vice versa. The mount is free if you have time to farm gold just like every other store item. Whether you cant afford in irl currency or virtual currency doesnt matter because it is a GAME. People’s worlds shattering because they want something so bad and cant get it.
Great then think of the mount as a nice car and move along.
I don’t think I will.
uh…no…i said they SHOULD have made it COST gold…not $$$…you know…like last time
It does cost gold. I can buy call of duty with gold in WoW. Thats what the token is for. Literally everything in the battle.net store is obtainable with gold in WoW.
You forgot to mention that after 20 years, the monthly sub is still $15. Is that the mark of a scummy company, or one that’s trying to continue to make the game playable by everyone? All cash shop items are optional and purchasable with gold.
Thats why tokens were 300k gold at the end of DF because people were buying them out to get the xpac for free. Then they immediately dropped to sub 200k a week after launch.
It isn’t? This game does have an economy, and it was designed as such? World of Warcraft was meant to feel like a living breathing world, including an active economy that has its own spikes and downfalls.
In what world is something free if you pay to gain access to it? Even if that includes farming gold. It isn’t free, you’re paying with your time and your money where in with the mount you’re just paying with money.
Please remember that the Token is still a Microtransaction, if you can buy it in game with gold. Blizzard is still netting that $20 from players, so no, the mount is not free, it’s just somebody else’s money being exchanged for your purchase which – it’s a digital item, you can argue blizz is only making $5 but it’s purely a created item by them for the sake of making money.
But lest we not forget that even though the subscription is $15/mo and has been since 2004, they have introduced more means of monetization. The mounts, transmogs, toys, services, tokens… All of it helps line Blizzard’s pockets. Your argument is “it’s optional, you don’t have to buy it”.
Yeah, while those items are optional, if you want to play the game; expansions are not. Not only are we paying $15/mo ($12/mo if you pledge your soul away to blizzard for the year sub) but every two years, we have to pay $50 minimum for updates to the game.
No, Blizzard is eating good. Servers have gotten significantly cheaper to run over the years.
You can also argue that the quality of product has gone downhill. If you need support, you get an automated response. Bugs and of course the addition of cut content that should’ve been in the game to begin with but turned into a real-world cash purchase.
Overall, people, the issue I have isn’t that it’s a mount on the cash shop. I’ve said countless times that I’m fine with $25 to $30 mounts. This $90 mount that is being sold is telling Blizzard that in the future, it’s okay to release a mount for $40, $50 or more. This is Blizzard testing the fields to see if it will work.
I 100% know they expected the backlash of this mount. They even tried to justify the cost by saying you can use WoW Tokens to purchase it on the announcement page.
Directly from the announcement page of the mount:
Don’t forget you can invest in your new gilded age with WoW Tokens. WoW Tokens purchased from the Auction house for gold can be redeemed for Battle.net Balance. Learn more in our support article.
The game economy is not what was mentioned. You clearly stated the real world economy talking about inflation in 2024. Dont try to twist it now dude. If you cant afford it dont buy it with cash. Crying on the internet about said virtual dinosaur being $90 or time in game. Much less time than the last brutosaur you forum cryers begged to have back is on a next level of bafoonery.
This game is not necessity which means the virtual item in said game is even less of a necessity. It saves you 90 seconds of hearthing and getting summoned back to the group your in. Some people think its worth it some dont. I dont and i wont buy it for that reason, but im not gonna come to the forums and cry about something nobody needs.
I want a new car, but i cant drop that kind of money right now so ill survive with the one i have.
I did mention the real-world economy briefly regarding the $90 price tag.
I did mention the economy in game. I explained how it directly impacts the economy of the game. You sir are wrong.
You get to see which comment i replied to. So you knew what i was referring to and are still trying to manipulate it. Its already clear youre very out of touch with reality if a virtual item shatters your world, but like i said, this is a next level of bafoonery
Hey, if defending a company with a CEO who would spit on you is your thing and helps you sleep at night. By all means.
That is not a different post entirely, it’s further down from what you quoted but on the same post. I was quoting and answering my perspective based on what was quoted and you responded to my entire post responding and cherry picking what you want to respond with. Go back and look. The projection is so real and I can’t even tell if you’re serious.
