Blizzard has completely ruined this game for the casual pvper, yet again

One of the main things that attracted myself(and i’m sure many others) was that dflight pvp was supposed to be more casual friendly. Honor gear and conquest gear were supposed to be pretty similar, and you were supposed to be able to compete even with just full honor set. Tier sets were never supposed to be a thing, and neither was this whole crafted pvp gear b.s. What happened? I understand the whole MMO grind thing as i’ve been playing for a long time, but for anyone looking to get into pvp, it’s just TOO MUCH of a grind to be even worth it. I guess this is yet another expansion I unsub for and hope the next one actually is more casual friendly.

There is a lot of information to take in sure, but this is by far the easiest gearing a charter has ever been and ILVL wise between honor and conq gear is not much. I will be more than happy to help you and get you some resources if you need.

do you really not think that there’s not a big difference between someone full conquest with tier set, and someone full honor? lmao

This is the easiest xpac to gear since wod. There are no systems to grind, just gear. This is a troll thread.

I am not saying that there isn’t a big difference. I am saying it’s closer than ever before. You can still win games in low mmrs without tier set. There are so many ways to mitigate stuff let me help you.

  1. Hit 60

  2. Que for nothing but epic bgs

  3. While in q go ahead and get your sparks done

  4. Get the quest to every epic bgs you get into

  5. Do the drake breaker quest.

  6. Do weekly pvp quest

  7. In a few hours you will have 2 pieces of conq or weapon(s) gear, one drake breaker piece. This is before you ever step foot in arena btw

  8. Do arenas or SS (highly advise against SS as low health will make you the KT everytime, but also the fastest way to get conq/box capped)

This has literally been the easiest I have ever seen it.

When did they ever say that?

uhm, just put in a trading order? ilevel doesn’t matter. The ones you craft for pvp all scale to 424.

While the difference is noticeable the ease of getting honor gear (literally a few hours) and removal of conquest cap, it is in fact very easy to gear.

Like you can be close to BiS in like <10 hours after you hit 70. Less if you can get a good win rate.

Not true. I just did this and it was more like 24+ hours played to be near full BIS. Still waiting til next week to finish my tier.

RSS is great Conquest, but takes too long to pop. Best method I’ve seen to gear is farming low cr 3v3.

Oh yeah, RSS is not good for conquest farm due to the queue time.

The worst thing Blizzard did to the casual/average player, IMO, is making an extremely punishable burst meta.

I was 1300 CR having people Death on Hex from lack of people who aren’t at least decent queuing. I swear it feels like every game I’ve played this season has been absolutely sweaty.

To be completely sincere, theres not a whole lot different, but yet there is a difference I will not deny you this. For the casual pvp’er all you would have ot do is farm out blue set gear and then farm out conquest through either 0 conquest rating RBG’s or through solo shuffle. Once you get a toon full Conquest gear, then you can transfer to alts conquest gear through boxes you can buy from the vendor that cost 375 conquest and you have to obtain at the very least 1400 conquest rating which can easily be done through solo shuffle. You’re a pally, they are dominating the pvp sphere right now. Shouldn’t be too difficult regardless if you have aspirant gear or not. I’m working on my 3rd toon full pvp set and only a few pieces away considering the great deal from the vendor boxes.

EDIT: Meant to reply to you not the original replier to your post. And to comment on the que times, the que times do get better the higher you go in ranking, I’ve noticed a sweetspot where everyone is queing is around 1100-1200 conquest rating.

Thats a fact. I sometimes leave 2s shaking from how hard I’m trying not to choke. Doesn’t help that I’m a warrior and all I have to deal with at my disposal is a leap to handle the endless roots and kiting.

Tier sets have been a thing in pvp since pvp started.

Crafted gear also has been a thing since pvp started, primarily in twinking in BGs. But as a person whos played for damn near 15 years in arena. The crafted gearing makes pvp accessible for alts and newbies while also serving as a cow crop for crafters, while also allowing people to actually play the game out the gate.

OH BOY, did you forget about Shadowland’s pal? or did you not play it? shadowlands didnt have 3 sets of gear but technically 16. All honor upgraded items, PLUS legendary grind PLUS conduit grinds.

In Shadowlands it can take someone literally three - four weeks to upgrade and gather all of the gear to meet base level pvp requirements.

It took me about three hours to get full honor gear on my main when the season started.
Took me a week to get full conquest gear.

Took me 2 resets to get full tier sets. and I literally only play maybe 5 hours a week.

This post is tone-deaf and honestly out of touch for the topic it is trying to address.

wonder how long you would have lasted in shadowlands. pvp gearing was an absolute nightmare and on top of that upgrades were locked behind rating . id say youd probably have lasted all of 1 day

They addressed most of the casual pvper concerns by having bis gear be available from unranked content, though.

Every expansion since wod?

Where the “gear grind” was roughly comparable?

That’s why everybody quit regular arena and moved to RSS.

The rated junkies want to get BiS everything and farm casuals in random BGs with premades. No one told you? This is obviously what Blizzard wants.

RSS ain’t for me. I’d rather struggle bus against R1’s and 9x multiglads running Ret/War at 1800 than spam shuffle and potentially get Elite. Lol

Somebody who has never touched ranked has access to the same gear as the literal #1 player.
