Blizzard gives the alliance high elves. Are you negatively affected?

yea but if blizzard uses the exact same model for both then that alone would stop high elves from being playable

Here is the thing.

Blood Elves are the same race as High, Void, Night, Nightborne and Highborne. They are all elves. Elf is the race.

Nice try. High Elves are not on Horde, Blood Elves are.

I don’t want high elves, but that’s not true. Currently the surviving high elves are part of the alliance, look up the silver covenant who have been around since wrath.

I think its more of a mechanics perspective. Like yea, the Helves/Belves are different from each other, but I think Blizzard is hesitant to put what would be a very very similar race to blood elves on alliance.

I think the velves and NB were supposed to be the compromise.

I feel sorry for the bus.

i think he means the same point you made about the models. high elves would just be blood elves with blue eyes if they got added right? so they probably cant be just off that

I honestly really don’t care about the model. Hell, they could make High Elves as ugly as that fat female that Eddy Murphy played in Norbit, I would still play.

Because for me, it isn’t about the looks, it is about the lore.

Ok, minus my Void Elf, it is about that racial because my Voidlord can’t even tank the lazy minion. And casting push backs when farming big amount of mobs is not fun.

I will say that this latest delve into a more robust customization system lays the groundwork for having elves differentiated by things like tattoos and adornments – since that’s the only difference high elves and blood elves could possibly have.

That being said, adding high elves would just be a disservice to the game. Blood elves have a fantastic story built on being “what remains” of their kind after Arthas. Adding high elves would ruin that.

Plus, I think there are other, more unique models out there that could be added besides another elf.

This.

can someone explain to me why on earth people care so much about this issue

like seriously this has been going on for so long now I don’t get what the big deal is

Yeah, for me it would definitely waste a new race slot. Think about getting a choice between something like Naga, Ethereals or different colored void elves with blue eyes. I’m sure people would be happy, but it wastes a new race slot when we should be getting something more interesting, not just a recolor of a race we already have.

high elves are a major part of the story and lore, but they are not playable in the game due to various lore reasons etc.
and people are upset that all these allied races got added but high elves didnt. the reason they didnt is the same reason they werent playable from the start

i really want murlocks or sethrak as a nuetral race

is an elf even an elf without obsessive arrogance? all 4 flavors of them are just different shades of obsessive arrogance

Tortollen that can choose a faction like the Pandaren.

sounds like a bunch of children screaming that they didnt get what they wanted for christmas

but each to their own I guess

Honestly though, it is just your own opinion if you think it would be a wasted slot. But the thing is, I do not think there is a limit on slots that can be for playable races.

As Ion said in the Q&A back in April, anything is possible in the future. And the future is pretty much endless.

tortollen wouldnt work because they are a peaceful race who dont care about fighting right? pandaren were peaceful but they had trained warriors and even constantly were at war with the hozen

yea basically.
