No idea what spec you’re talking about, but if it’s frost then 100% the majority is gonna vote for S3. It’s just the best set bonus, and no amount of (realistic) tuning is gonna make the other 2 set bonuses compete. That said, S4 is a meme season, not a real season…so just get what you get and move on. TWW will introduce new set bonuses.
Oh, I dunno. Someone posted it in Discord but I had already seen it wherever I had seen it myself. They beat me to the post.
Stop being obtuse. It’s a poll that should have been administered IN GAME so everyone that played had the opportunity to participate instead of less than 10k players per class, which also had a lot of overlap. You should have been able to log on to a level 70 character and been able to vote on a tier set bonus and transmog option for that class only. If you wanted to vote for another you’d need to have a different level 70 for a different class. Maximum of 13 votes per person IF they have one of every class leveled to 70.
This should not have been learned about through third party sites and communities. It also sucked that some people were able to cast troll-votes for classes they don’t even play.
i thought it was 106% of all statistics are made up with only 43% being real statistics
Thank you <3

Oh, I like this idea. I always have every class leveled to 70.
I don’t disagree this should have been in game. Why they didn’t do it that way, we may never know.
However, being afforded the opportunity to vote won’t necessarily cause someone to vote. They could have still skipped it, and the “10k per class” number you threw out might not have improved if they had put it in game. They still could have had a bunch of people just skip it entirely (I certainly HOPE they wouldn’t make the survey unskippable if they did it that way).
Its funny I am sure at no point did they add it to the Blizzard Launcher which is the first place everyone would have seen it.
But at least it would have been 10k people that actually play that class.
A skip would be mandatory. Whether or not they’d completely lose out on their chance to vote after skipping is up for debate, though.
How would a poll be administered in-game?
Put a special NPC that has various options in some dialogue box?
I think they meant advertised in game. Like on the launcher or an in game message to let people know.
Just a pop-up splash screen that would come up with the selections to vote for and an, “I don’t want to vote,” option for any level 70 upon login? It wouldn’t have been difficult.
It definitely wouldn’t have been as difficult as that, either.
No. I mean the actual poll should have been conducted in-game. That ensures that only players with level 70 characters could vote, and would limit their votes to only classes they have at 70. Much less tomfoolery that way.
A pop-up for every single class? Or a pop-up depending on which character you load at a given time?
Also, if it didn’t list the bonuses and have a graphic of the appearance, you know players would be complaining they have to alt-tab out just to vote properly…
A post on the forums definitely seems easier.
Oh, well that’s not possible. Limiting the forums to account wide poll votes, likes, dislikes and flags fixes all of these issues.
Yes.
Why couldn’t it include those things? Let’s say you log-in to a level 70 priest. You are immediately greeted with the poll screen where you can choose to vote or abstain. You select vote, then see ONLY the priest tier sets, where you can choose to vote for none, one, two, or all three sets. The transmogs would have their own section as they apply to that specific character you’re playing on.
Sending people to an outside site, even Blizzard’s own forums, would turn a lot of people off of voting. It can be done in game with a simple UI, and you wouldn’t have a salty DK voting for the known worst DH tier set (just a random example) just so they can be competitive in PvE or PvP, because things like that DID absolutely happen.
Why do you think that wouldn’t be possible?
Man, they easily added that “Plunderstorm” option in game interface.
How do you add in a poll when nothing like that interface exists right now?
You mean an entire game mode? How did you equate a poll window with an entire game mode?
Y’all wanna take a step back and be logical for a moment? Is there a reason why they couldn’t have changed the forums to account wide polling and given you an announcement on the launcher and an email in your inbox?
All I know is that a lot of people who admitted to not knowing how shaman spells worked or the tier sets worked flooded the votes with the worst resto shaman set.
So, you think they’re incapable of creating a window, adding selections to that window, and sending that data to their polling server? You know all those things exist separately already. They have interactive splash screens already. They have selection screens in the menus. They have data retrieval in the form of reports and tickets. They even make it so you can view transmogs and mounts in splash screens.
All this would be doing extra would be determining which class you’re currently playing on and add the selections for that class only. Everything else is done already and just needs someone to copy the aspects needed, and paste into a new project file.
I’m not saying it should be intern work, but I’m willing to bet an addon creator could do mostly the same thing (not data acquisition), even with their limited resources.
