Blizzard does not know how to fix their game

Nope, a TOS cannot protect Blizzard in this case. Just because someone says it on their forums doesn’t make their suggestion transfer ownership. IP laws are funky.

And having a dev reach out is really cool! Suing probably wouldn’t come from the player, but copying an idea outright is the issue. They won’t know if it’s your idea, or something you got from someone else. If a struggling indi-dev sees a major company using their formulas/code, they have a fairly strong case against the company.

Blizzard takes suggestions frequently, but yeah…too many details opens up the possibility of being hit by IP laws. (Which is why they ask for simple ideas, because they can build and polish it themselves.)

If it’s indeed an algorithm that runs the game then it needs to be adjusted.

Step 1: FIRE lead game dev
Step 2: HIRE someone new

Upside is that you can make WoW great again. Not really a down side, WoW can’t get worse and lose any more subs than it is already due to poor dev choices.

I feel like it’s a case of a lot of fluff being thrown at us. What I mean is that compared to previous expansion mounts and toys and pets are raining out of the sky. Just yesterday I got two more mounts doing the darkshore warfront. There is so much work with the fluff that they are focusing on, and not the core mechanics that people are playing for. I feel sorry for the employees because they are flat out making this fluff when all they need to do is scale it back but make sure the core fundamentals are working properly (balance, scaling etc).

They made a bad game and are carrying it with trinkets and mounts courtesy of the art department. It’s purely a collectors game right now.

Druids are the best herb gatherers. There are so many deers and cheetahs running up the streams around tiraguard sound that I proposed we rename it ‘deer alley’ or ‘deer river run’.

It’s not. That’s my point. They could put in place an algorithm and have balance happen automatically. They haven’t which is why they have to keep adjusting.

Yes, for the amount of money Blizz makes per month, these bugs are inexcusable.

Oh I see! That’s a great idea, I think. Blizzard could spend some time on creating an algorithm for each specialization that would automatically balance out the damage, healing and mitigation of each specialization. Sounds incredibly complex but a great concept.

You should just admit that it’s impossible to balance a game like this cause everyone gets butt hurt and thinks the games unbalanced when they encounter a player better than them.
It’s been 14 years, it ain’t ever going to be ‘balanced’ the way you think it should.

Well, that too

It’s funny but when I first started playing that’s what I thought they did. I thought they had like a sim generator dmg/healing program that could balance out all classes.

Then the more I played and the more hotfixes of ‘increase dmg by 20%’ even a few ‘increase dmg by 50%/ 100%’ hotfixes I realised I was grossly mistaken…

Not the only, but a reason raiding guilds are waning.

Personal loot and ilevel restrictions on trading (the inability to distribute loot where it’s needed) is another huge reason.

These are really some excellent ideas.

Lol. This only works if the game’s content is limited to a single environment. (Imagine every encounter/combat as Patchwerk, PVP included.)

A lot of the bad decisions came about precisely because they listened to the community. Saying listen to the community is pointless because the community is rarely wanting the same thing in the game - so adjusting it for you may be breaking it for me.

I mean ok, the players that call us Doom and Gloomers are the same ones that point and say:

“BFA has tons of content! What are you talking about?!? I run old content for mounts and mog all the time!”

…so yeah.

Most of those things would make me want to quit. They are making classic to handle some of your complaints.

BFA has tons of content. It may not appeal to you for any number of reasons. What content do you enjoy, and what would you like to see improved or changed?

Class design and tier sets.
