In Wrath, a bunch of additional components were added to aid levelling.
Classes were redesigned.
LFD was added.
Heirloom gear was added.
A bunch of other gearing changes were made to ease the process.
We do NOT need a 68 Boost. If you must monetize levelling, sure, leave the 58 boost in, though I’d prefer you remove it. But whatever you do, don’t provide a 68 boost that bots will use to constantly farm Utgarde Keep and continue to destabilize the game.
If you want to make money off whales, sell a few of the mounts in the store. Add all the game services like character customization. Anything cosmetic is fine.
Just don’t provide a boost that launches people into Wrath without any training or experience again.
The boost is fine. Most Classic players are WOW veterans with plenty of experience. A 68 boost does not invalidate Wrath content in any way. Bots will bot regardless. I know people that are only playing TBC because the boost allows them to skip the 1-60 content that they’ve already done a hundred times. The same will be true for Wrath.
whatever they do, they gotta fix other underlying problems. Frankly the “Heroics” don’t matter much in wrath because they are weaker than normal modes in vanilla
Unfortunatly, WOTLK Classic will be filled with retail monetization and the 68 boost will probably be unlimited + faction/race change & maybe a Token ?
In Crusade:
-XP 10-60 was nerfed.
-Group quests were nerfed.
-Dungeons were nerfed.
-Classes were buffed.
-Many new quests.
-Many item buffs.
-Many 275-300 recipes are now on trainer.
-Reputations are faster.
Point is we didn’t need a crusade boost either… but they still sold one, and they will no doubt sell a new one for wrath. You see most players bought a crusade boost, so why wouldn’t they sell a wrath boost next? Players had the opportunity to say “NO, WE DO NOT WANT THIS, WE WILL NOT BUY IT.” But they did buy it. There were boosted players EVERYWHERE. We can complain on the forums all we want but probably 100x as many people bought the boost. The majority has clearly supported boosting, whether we like it or not.
Just like how the 58 boost was not an issue in TBC Classic a 68 boost in wrath would be fine too.
Someone two levels below previous expansion max in junk gear is a non issue. Most of us will be taking geared 70’s into wrath just like how we brought geared 60’s into TBC Classic. And within an hour or two you won’t even be able to tell a boosted character from anyone else.
I still haven’t used my 58 boost (because I already had my 60’s for TBC before it was announced, not because I’m against it), but I 100% would’ve used it otherwise. The 58 boost is great, because its a good thing for the players and retention. The 68 boost will be no different. Sure, leveling is easier due to heirlooms and LFG, but that isn’t a valid reason for a 68 boost not to exist.
