Blizzard: do NOT force TBC on Classic realms, please!

While I think this is an important discussion, there are plenty of other details to champion and discuss before we get to talking about TBC or Classic+.

Most likely what we get for Phase 1 is locked in. But there are many details too look at in terms of what is including or not in the various content phases. Lets get Classic corrected/solidified more before talking about what happens after Classic.

Example look at the DHK Phase2/Phase3 thread. No matter which side you support on that it is an important discussion that can still change things (or not) before phase 2 hits.

Um did you play vanilla? There’s no achievements. Most people will never clear nax, the consumable farming, organizational problems of 40 people and time commitments will be too much (farming previous raids for gear).

Anyways pvp is forever. I’ve been playing the same wsg since 2005 (well it got graphics overall recently in BFA but same thing).

Are you not concerned about the same thing on a flip side? aka not enough players to support classic servers when TBC comes out?

That being said I do agree with giving the players the choice to move forward or not. But I think there should be fresh classic realms instead. That is a formula that has worked incredibly well on private servers.

This is why i think servers should naturally move to TBC as they originally did, and open up new servers for those that want to stay in vanilla forever.

Thank you. Agreed.

Nope. Stand alone untainted classic servers will always thrive.

So you selfishly want to butcher everyone’s hard work and progress on the classic servers instead of creating separate TBC servers? Nice.

Remember this isn’t a pserver, people are paying a subscription for this. Paying money to get back what we lost in 2007 when TBC updates were forced upon us.

I just want an authentic experience. Naturally shifting to TBC is authentic. As long as that happens they can do whatever they want to classic servers IMO lol. I just have a hard time believing you’ll be able to maintain much of a server post phase 6.

I want Classic > TBC > Wrath > New expansions based on Classic style philosophy

Yeah well people had a hard time believing classic servers were ever going to exist too.

Yeah if I knew they’d add TBC and then maybe WOTLK, then I never would have resubbed to play Classic in the first place. A perpetual classic WoW is what I signed up for.

I don’t want a TBC server I want it to stay Vanilla don’t force us to go TBC…

I agree with the persistent idea. I’d love to have TBC servers as that was my favorite xpac even compared to wrath where everything was simplified and everyone did massive aoe damage. Dungeon runs were nothing but mindless aoe. At least TBC heroics were difficult even into tier 2.

I’m supporting classic in the hopes of getting a tbc/wrath classic. I’d imagine they would let us character copy or something over when the time comes.

Their answer in that interview though is clearly a ‘wiggle back out of the corner’ reply to a question that they obviously don’t have an answer to. Classic hasn’t even launched yet. The only data they have to base a decision on is the beta and that didn’t really even have end game content. How are they going to decide if they are going to make a tbc server when they don’t even know how many people are going to be playing classic?

They would have to see how many players make it to max level. How many players gear at max level. How many players are tired of current classic max level. The only real difference between vanilla and tbc is end game content. So it makes sense that they base their decision to create tbc on how many people are playing classic end game content.

I’m going to enjoy Classic, but I’m really here waiting for TBC.

That said, this is a reasonable request and there’s no reason it can’t be executed exactly as asked by the OP.

TBC is the definitive wow experience. Started in Vanilla. Stayed for the Crusade

You mean the way the “#NoChanges” movement is holding a bunch of other people hostage?

I cannot wait for Classic+ and or TBC Classic. Its the only reason I’m interested in this at all. I’m afraid I wont get it because Vanilla, if we’re all being honest with ourselves, was a jack-backwards, ridiculous, incoherent, unbalanced mess of a game. Especially for… honestly… half the classes.

Aww man. All this talk is seriously making me rethink my new resub. I just want Blizz to do what they’ve already said they’d do…have a persistent classic Wow. Don’t want to get reinvested again, only to have the rug pulled out from under me again.

I also hope this isn’t a thing. If they end up doing TBC, it should be completely separate, non-carry-over servers.

Many of us simply aren’t interested in post-Vanilla content, which is why CLASSIC is releasing, not “Classic the Burning Crusade”. I mean, if TBC was the most popular version of WoW, that’s what we would be getting in a couple of weeks.

I wish there was more advanced notice … like when servers are comming up about progressive servers they would ~know~ they are going to take to Wrath at this point. It would be interesting to see how the population splits at that point.

At the same time i think that Classic+ as an idea will take more time to spool up than the 2 years they would give it in order to get to even patch level content on a game thats 15 years old. Classic+ would basically be its own MMO at that point and require more of its own resources. Basically its WoW 2 in all but name convention.

To that end i would expect something more akin to Fresh servers or Static Servers for people to chose to play on while others continue down the path to Wrath.

I’m ok with tbc servers or tbc taking over classic like an expansion. However, I do believe they should separate the servers for the classic only people.

lol ok. The 280 k petition on change .org was for vanilla wow. And now you’re riding it’s success, trying to get classic+ (what nonsense, it’ll be a glorified lvl 60 BFA) or TBC. Btw you can have both of things, if there really is enough interest, on separate realms. No logical reason to destroy vanilla wow servers twice.
