Blizzard COULD Ban GDKP runs now the token is in the game

I feel you’re just trying to demonize that system.
Someone that participate in a kill has the right to roll on gear.

The reason why LFR on retail is a bit wild west is people can roll for tmog and Blizzard wants people to go in LFR for that reason basically giving LFR people free carries because tmog chasers go in there. LFR people are just mad that other people can actually need loot.

This happens EVERYTIME with SR.
GDKP is the best system and its not even close.
A competent company would ban the gold buyers.
Blizzard wont even do that so its a fools errand to expect them to ban GDKP.

It’s the main reason, yes. Outside of GDKPs, Cold Weather Flying, and Mammoth Mount, there just isn’t much to spend gold on in Wrath.

I raid with my guild every week and am still against GDKPs.

Banning gold buyers is the hardest part because most of the it is done outside the game. It’s the last resort solution that doesn’t really work. They need to control how the currency is obtained and spent if they want to have a chance to control gold selling.

Is blizzard an indie game or a billion dollar company?
Thats their problem. The fact they refuse to address any of this after we are 4 years into the whole classic experiment should tell you something.

You know how you control capitalism? With multiple laws and regulations.
Yes they’ve been really weak at it, I just don’t think they have much interest in it.

There’s a lot to spend on! You mentioned cold weather flying, but there’s also epic flying, professions, gems/enchants, BoE gear.

It seems that there may be a lot of people playing WoW that don’t have fully BiS raid geared characters that they have completed all the content on, and instead they spend time leveling, questing and exploring on multiple alts, which all benefit from those things.

Of course, I don’t have any special access to data, so I cannot claim to know what sorts of numbers that playstyle represents, but with the popularity of HC Classic (that largely promotes that solo, questing and exploring the world playstyle), I have come to suspect that it’s much, much larger than I would have imagined.

Anyway, regardless of whether people spend real money on gold for GDKPs (I have no doubt that there are enough people doing this that it represents significant numbers), so what?

Not only is GDKP still a legitimate loot allocation method, banning it would legitimately harm those who enjoy it, and do not buy third party gold.

What benefit do you imagine coming from doing such a thing, and what sort of business proposal would be made to shareholders to have resources allocated to design, develop, implement and maintain such a ban?

3Rd party gold buying has been against ToS since the beginning. But a bunch of twitch and youtubers who abuse the rules drive a bunch of traffic to classic so they turn a blinds eye.

Blizzard could ban GDKPs today and other form of buying loot from raids would pop right back up. You cut the head off dragon and another one just appears. If Blizzard really wanted to ban gdkps then they wouldn’t have a barter system in their game.

I mean first ban all advertising of ingame boost or gdkps or sale runs.
Then add a 15-25% tax on the AH and make everything have a deposit that scales with the price rather than the item value.
Cap the amount of stuff you can post on the AH.
Nerf all content that is done solo in term of gold, if a player is soloing a dungeon he should get 1/5 of the loot.
Make gold cap account wide.
Make riding training free.
oh also break TSM.

Do all of that and you might have a chance to fight against gold buying.

Okay and what do I use my gold for after all these changes?

Consumables, boes, crafting, cosmetics stuff. The usual.

Why would they ban the only reason to spend gold in wrath.

Lol this isn’t retail. What cosmetic stuff? Consumes are between 5g to 10g. Crafting some BoEs cost between 2k to 5k. I have over gold cap across characters just from investing in materials each phase. You can nerf gold generation in the game all you want, but the main issue is that there is simply no good money sinkers in the game.

Yea I mean I would nerf gold gen from Auction house a lot, so you wouldn’t be in this situation anyway. If they did changes like that they’d need to do that from new servers anyway.

The auction being able to burn way more gold with a higher tax would impact the game economy a lot. That would be the biggest gold sink and would never run out as cosmetics run out once people bough them all.

The only reason you have all that gold is because of RMT for GDKPs.

I get that it would help mitigate it in the future, but the problem is now. Until blizzard adds any worthwhile money sinkers I’ll just spend my gold gearing up alts faster in GDKPs.

Oh the game is doomed toward the economy. Mega servers being more doomed as more people just amplify the problem. They could try to reset the economy on live servers but I guess they don’t have the balls for that.

At this point? Might as well just make gold irrelevant and boost dailies by 10x.

Nah, not in GDKPs but in the AH itself. I bought titanium back in phase 1 when it was at 3g each. Then waited till phase 3 and prospected it all and sold each gem between 200 and 300 gold each. Who did I buy the titanium ore posted in the AH? Probably gold farmers or bots. Who did I sell all the stuff in the AH? Probably a bunch of gold buyers. Not much to be done about it.

ITT: we pretend that Blizzard is going to ban players for purchasing raid drops with gold
