Gotta love this method of dealing with issues. Complain, complain, complain… until you get your way. When you get your way, flood the board with nonsense about “if you don’t like Horde getting faster queues you’re selfish” type posts etc.
Problem is, and I’ll keep this simple… a lot of us chose Alliance specifically knowing the queue times would be better, even though we’d have a heavy disadvantage in just about everything else. Horde chose their side knowing exactly what the advantages and disadvantages were goin in as well. We made informed decisions, a lot of why people wanted #nochanges.
So now that Horde whining has actually introduced the absolute elephant of changes, what do I get? All the same disadvantages from picking Alliance without any advantages?
Sorry… what? So all this time I invested, leveling while being ganked constantly cause Horde don’t mind 2-5 on 1, camp summoning stones, camp world objectives, camp world bosses, camp quest mobs, etc, etc, etc… is for nothing?
In OG TBC I picked Horde cause I like Horde. This time around I’m older, my time is more limited so I gave up a lot of what I liked so that I would have better queue times. I made an informed decision, now Blizzard is just gonna change whatever tf they want cause kids gonna complain right?
You know what a real solution would have been? Open up some free faction changes (Horde->Alliance) and see if some Horde guilds that like to PVP swap sides. WTF is this catering to the loudmouth mob?
I’m really having a hard time playing atm, because I feel played.
You know whats really funny. All the alliance complaints are well written multiparagraph posts and horde give 1 or 2 lines max of complete baby rage. Blizzard and horde aint gonna read what you said and complaining about a trend that has been going on for half a decade might be even dumber. Its Actiblizz’s monetary strategy to cater to horde and its not gonna change.
Yea most of us did. Now the choice is reroll Horde or Quit. I unsubbed and am not Queing in protest. The Alliance will fall which will ruin the immersion of the game when there isn’t any Ally vs Horde. This game is based on faction balance so this change of same faction Ques just ruins any type of TBC feel.
The only thing Blizz should of done is FREE faction changes for Horde to Ally to stabilize the faction balance. Instead we will have dead Ally servers, guilds disbanding and economies falling. Real shame.
It would be too hard to do that and Actiblizz doesnt want to put any effort in. What happens with horde only items when you faction change? Your items in general? Your rep?
Every little thing about your char has to be micromanaged for a faction swap and even then there will be huge bugs that weren’t ironed out.
They took the easy way out to satisfy the ultra casual population of horde players (the people with under 2 hours a week to play) while ignoring the glaring obvious faction issues. Although this is a test I don’t have high hopes.
The ultra casual horde love it so it will probably go through with same faction trash talking (eroding the server community) and win trading being a big part of it that most are ignoring.
I mean not to bash your post, but they already do it in retail - yes your items change to the other faction equivalent, yes your rep changes to other faction equivalent. They’ve already done this, so it’s not working a miracle.
This is a well needed change. At no point should someone wait an average of 1 hr to play a game.
After my first experiences on a PvP server in Vanilla, I would never want to do that again. WpvP is never a fair fight. It’s just one faction ganking the other. I’m sorry that you made your decision solely on BG que times, but this change is needed.
I mean they don’t even really need to be in touch to understand what should have been the first step.
Offer free faction changes for horde on horde-heavy realms with a 4% or plus population advantage. For those with the que complaint, that addresses their problem and it also serves to fix the imbalance on the realm.
Next step if that isn’t good enough, is to create smaller queing pools by adding a battlegroup-ish type system. You can always shift the groups to balance the que pool. Battlegroups were in TBC anyways.
And neither of those are altering the freakin game in a game advertised as “classic.”
You need to make sense to have an argument. You’re not making sense, and hence…
Show me this server where the Horde has overwhelming numbers in the open world but are constantly being ganked and outnumbered, please. What are you goin for with this approach?
The change wasn’t needed, and there are certainly better solutions… a limited time free faction change (Horde-Alliance) would have been one, if you guys love your PVP so much.
Problem is you’re not going to tell me what is needed, because all you’re telling me really is that Horde should get everything, with no strings attached whatsoever, because… reasons.
Ok this is fun! I want to be able to compete on an even playing field in world objectives. While I level I want easy access to buffs and shards. Also while leveling I don’t like to corpse run too much so it’ll help to have a lot of friends nearby at all times to gank enemies who try to take my quest mobs, resources, or air… I want to be able to freely summon my groupmates to the dungeon.
I don’t get any of that. I chose this though for the quick queues, but screw me right?
My argument is no one should be waiting 1 hour to 2 hours to play a BG. No one! I don’t care what faction you are. We are just people trying to enjoy a game we love.
I don’t remember the server I choose 17 years ago in Vanilla. All I remember is I was on a PvP server, hated that experience and went to Gnomeregan (PVE server). I knew from that experience that Classic would be the same experience on any PvP server and did not want any part of that.
You can’t change the mentality of alliance players. Most of them just enjoy doing PVE and have zero interest in PvP.
I played on alliance faction for 15 years. All of my friends and family wanted to try out horde when classic was announced. We didn’t care about the racials, we wanted to have a difference experience than what we had before.
So you are telling me that 50-100 people that I love playing with have to faction transfer to enjoy PvP? That to me doesn’t make any sense.
What is needed is what is being tested right now. Faction Vs Faction is a perfect solution. It makes sense as well. Since arena is out, that is the new battleground to show your skills. Then making battlegrounds the sparing match to prepare for the arena.
In one sense, yes. That is exactly what I’m telling you. But in another sense, no, I understand that long queue times can be problematic.
But thinking that horde vs horde bg is the solution is just asinine. Like I’ve already mentioned, free limited time faction change (Horde->Alliance) and accommodating some PVP guilds in doing so may have alleviated the problem greatly… we’ll never know. OR, they could go the retail route if they’re so stuck on #bigchanges and just pooled ratios into battlegroups to help reduce the queue times to something more acceptable.
Simply making your character, knowing the queue times were going to be bad because this is history, not some new frontier, then crying until you get your way in the simplest band-aid fashion is not a solution at all. Sorry, just cause you’re happy they pandered to your salt doesn’t make you right.
Horde complain to get another advantage over alliance and aren’t willing to consider that a simple racial balance would probably have helped the faction balance and queue times whilst being fair for everyone…
Horde only seems to care for changes that will help themself and then flame anyone who has a different opinion on a change that will help everyone not just one faction
