Blizzard can you please clarify if you will allow transfers from Anniversary Realms to era prior to TBC?

Hi Blizzard,

The community wants to know whether or not you will allow transfers to era realms such as Blaumeux and Whitemane before you update the anniversary realms to TBC.

Personally I lost my original wow classic character because I wasn’t playing anymore when the servers updated to TBC the first time around and I really just want to redevelop that same character and stay in era forever.

Can you please communicate with the community and clarify this? It’s making the gameplay experience worse not knowing whether I will be able to play my character anymore. Thank you.

of course they will, why wouldn’t they :expressionless: they did it last time

I feel like they need a different process. Lots of people take breaks from this game. If you don’t know of or catch the window of cloning, then there’s nothing that can be done.

This happened to me and all I can do is watch my characters sit and progress through the various expansions that I don’t want to play, and hope I don’t miss it again on my new characters. Surely there is another creative way of solving this problem.

i agree that era should be the default choice :expressionless: people who are excited for the expansions can opt in. people who don’t care about the expansions are more likely to just want to stay in era.

With the changes like dual spec it will be unlikely to allow transfers to Era

Dual Spec.

they’ll just disable it on era transfer :expressionless: wouldn’t be too difficult

The whole lure for pserver players before Classic launched was “at least our characters won’t get deleted”.

Sadly, some of our characters got deleted.

Would really like some clarity on this as well . I’d like to be able to copy/transfer my 20th anniversary classic characters to permanent classic era servers when TBC launches . Would also like to see permanent TBC era servers as well . Never want to play cata and beyond again and I’m worried about sinking my time into characters that will just be forced into expansions I don’t want to play

“On these new Anniversary realms, transfers will be unavailable (except for transfers to a Normal realm for Hardcore characters).”

Well, I suggest they fill they fill the screen with your options. and have a 30 sec cooldown before you get so excited you click through everything just to be playing.
They haven’t allowed for anyone other than genx when it comes to common sense(trolln)
Personally if they do that, and people still fruit cake it up, then they simply too stupid to play the game anyway.

I really don’t see how this would matter. SoM was more different than the anniversary realms and they still dumped those chars in to era.

I mean, if it doesn’t then cool. I think if people pay 1000g (or however much Dual Spec ends up costing), they might complain about losing dual spec for Era realms.

Doubt. You can literally spit in any direction and it will land on an easy 3k gold on standard era. I’ve bought new players’ epic mounts just to be nice, gold is a complete non-issue on classic era.

Yeah we need to know if not going to lvl new guy on ERA and skip fresh

Are you hoping to be able to transfer for TBC realms or nah?

It would be nice to know either way, especially if people want to play both, but I think leveling a toon specifically for era, and another maybe closer to pre-patch specifically for TBC Classic Again, could be a way to go.

Wow! That’s quite a nice gesture.

I still think people would complain about having Dual Spec taken away, if that happens, though maybe it won’t be as large of a concern by then…

Frankly it’s kind of arbitrary to argue in the first place because if they do allow a transfer it would be completely optional anyway. By default everyone is probably getting shoved in to TBC just like last time, and the service was also a paid one last time as well.

So this idea that people would be unhappy with X or Y when moving to Era when it’s a completely voluntary choice to make from the get go, is bordering on pedantry.

If you get all uncomfortable because of icky weirdness on Era compared to anniversary servers, then just don’t transfer to era. Seems rather simple. It neither effects you nor anything you care about if other people make a copy and transfer to era as opposed to just quitting if the option isn’t available.

Yeah. idk where the argument comes from. Anyway, if they do allow transfers, then cool.

Hello? Blizzard? Can get get a response? This is such a simple question can a dev chime in? A lot of people an to know this and this isn’t some ridiculous ask it’s pretty basic to being able to continue playing the same character.
