I agree.
High Elves + Ogres would be an incredible duo package to release as allied races. It also channels some hard Warcraft 2 energy, as that’s when Humans got High Elf units and Orcs got Ogre units.

Blood Elves should most definitely get blue eyes (and purple, teal etc).
The helfers and their desires for playable alliance high elves has NOTHING to do with Blood Elves and their eye colors at all.
When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent.
Do you see why it is violent?
Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind.
When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence.
So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind. - Jiddu krishamurti
props for noticing!
We already know Blood Elves ARE High Elves and so already playable. Whatever it is that helfers want for alliance was given to them with Void Elves. Their cries for another elf race isn’t going to happen, but they’ll keep asking no matter what happens.
I suggest putting their topics on ignore if they bother you, that way you won’t see them.
Yet nightborn not being color shifted is okay because reasons:)
I mean at this point there is so much broken lore that is in game simply due to balancing it isn’t even funny… and to watch Blizzard stand on this mountain when we now can pretty much run around buck rear nekid is extremely humorous to me.
Personally I think they should just give all eye color, hair color, skin color etc et al to all playable races and let the peeps RP as their heart desires. It isn’t like in game Lore actually means anything anymore.
Maybe you just don’t understand it. There isn’t any broken lore.
It really wouldn’t be controversial the nukbers of antis is even smaller despite certain people’s ever growing armies of alts.
They aren’t. Nobody who wanted high elves wanted double traitor blood elves
If there’s a good business reason, Blizzard will do it. If not, then it will never happen. Lore means less than nothing and arguing about it is a waste of time.
Nope, they want Alliance loyal High elves for the pure Tolkien fantasy.
Yeah… there is… because they made a $$$ decision and retconed it… or made the square peg fit into the round hole… It is fine if you don’t want to see it… many people in life walk through it with blinders.
(Commentary): Maybe? We’d probably see a lot of threads asking for the ability to toggle it off. What would be a deal breaker would be things like the NPCs in the Cathedral of Light whining every time you enter it, and also the lack of Paladins, as well as being unable to pursue the more interesting class options such as Druids and Shamans, which could be logically added by drawing on that, ‘assimilating into other cultures,’ line of reasoning.
You can’t even give an example, nice try though
(Speculative): Examples of broken lore for the sake of money? There are a few. Remember how, in Mists of Pandaria, the Purge of Dalaran happened? Then Legion rolled around and Blizzard decided we needed a single capital rather than two so they could cut down on development costs, so they re-used Dalaran and all the Blood Elves went back without an issue. That’s an example of lore being broken for the sake of $$$.
If you think that’s broken lore you’re very mistaken… Jaina was removed from the leadership of Dalaran for that. Then a few years passed. Development in the timeline doesn’t mean the lore is broken bud.
Did it ever really?
You appear to be the only WoW Lore that exists…imo.
(Observation): Jaina left on her own, but the break in Lore is that the Horde went back at all. The Horde had no reason to ever trust Dalaran. Sickeningly enough, when the Sunreavers tried to return to Dalaran, Aethas Sunreaver had to pawn off a royal artifact of the ruling dynasty of Quel’Thalas, a national treasure.
(Commentary): I’m well aware that there is such a thing as development in the timeline, but when a development doesn’t make sense and invalidates previous developments, and has a very obvious reason behind it (cutting down on development costs), it’s fair to say it’s lore that was broken for the sake of money.
Sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action. Why alienate either side with the blue eye/helf option.
Besides, the color/race that really matters is red skin Draenei
