We wouldn’t see the same argument if Alliance got HMT either. Or if the whole story about Mag’har was a reason for MU Lightforged to rescue them from the convert or die methods of the Lightbound. It’s only because it’s elves we see this argument, and even with Nightborne I notice none of the purists on our Hordeside are making the argument we should give them back to the Alliance cause they’re the same race as Night Elves, just suffering from withdrawals.
If Alliance players want to play on the Alliance, I say send them back to the Alliance. Those who want to play Horde will stay Horde. Quit forcing the racial choice also being the political choice, we aren’t Jim Crowe.
It’s more so the RP value of playing a High Elf that didn’t fall to corruption or make the massive shift in their culture Blood Elves did.
It’s why they left, and why they do not call themselves Blood Elves, and why they are acknowledged by everyone in the story as Quel’dorei different from Blood Elves.
Actually, I see this argument a lot. People are/were pretty annoyed and bummed that Nightborne went to the Horde. The only difference is that Nightborne are so vastly different from Night Elves that people are…somewhat okay with it.
As an Alliance player I do not understand these people. The storyline was full of blatant parallels to the BElf storyline. It was obvious from the get-go they’d end up being Horde aligned
Still a fan of dragging back the old Vanilla appearance for 'em. Look at Nozdormu’s elf form for what I’m talking about. Clearly a HElf, but visually distinct from BElves and a bit more NElf-looking to him
Don’t think I agree with this, Nightborn arn’t that different, especially since the Highborn mages are part of the nightelves again since cataclysm, AND that shadowlands is giving Nightelves some of the Nightborn skin tones.
Probably because Alliance players helped the Nightborne just as much as Horde players. Tyrande is a nuisance at this point. Also, it’s another point to make for being rid of faction barriers.
Yeah, the original high elf model was based off the night elf model, both male and female.
There’s the high elf appreciation thread that gets bumped every once in a while, and in the first post someone shows proposed models for male and female high elves, and the females use the female human model.
you conveniently cut off the part where I said people HORDESIDE aren’t making that argument. Like no one on the HORDESIDE is saying that Nightborne should be Alliance because they’re the same race as Night Elves. It’s a disingenuous argument when applied to the High Elf argument because those who make it aren’t advocating for sending the Nightborne back to the Alliance while making it.
Think what you will about nightborne, but they’re lorewise a different race.
“Fearing calamity, Elisande and her followers worked to fortify their holdings in Suramar. They harnessed the Eye of Aman’thul, one of the Pillars of Creation, to create an immense fount of arcane magic. Known as the Nightwell, this source of power would nourish the sorcerers and protect them from future threats. In the millenia to come, the fount would also change Elisande and her allies, transforming them into a new race called the nightborne.”
Wooah there, dont be trash talking Tyrande, she was the only faction leader who bothered to fight at Suramar. The nightelves did more for the Nightborn than the bloodelves did since it was a nightelf who gave them the arcandor and our leader being present showed more commitment, while Lor’themar didn’t find it important enough to show up himself.
And the ungratfull gits repayed us by joining the horde and helping burn down our city, genociding our people, the very people who JUST liberated them. Someone is definitly in the wrong there, and its not Tyrande.
High Elves eye colors are not just blue, people seem to forget that. They have many colors, even green tough I assume different than the fel glow the Blood Elves had before the sunwell made them holy.
I didn’t conveniently cut anything off, but your aggressive attitude is disappointing.
I’ve given you reasons for why vulpera/goblin using the same base model is fine with some folks, because one is a fox and another is a green boy. High elves and blood elves are the exact same, aside from potential customization options like tattoos and jewelery.
A Nightelf who wasn’t really part of NE society and would have been content watching the NB all wither to death instead if we hadn’t accidentally awakened it.
