Blizzard Already Nerfed Anima Gain

I’ve noticed this happening already - as a Necrolord, the Nurakkir House of Eyes quests that award 500 Anima are no longer available, and I’ve been checking for a week straight to make sure that’s the case. World quests used to appear that awarded 4x35 Anima globules, and those no longer seem to be showing up, now we get more miniscule rep rewards instead.

Why are they so hellbent on prolonging us doing this annoying and unfun busywork? Before I could easily get to around 5k anima/week without much effort and focused on the content I really wanted to do, but now I’m spending 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours a day in the Maw and doing dailies and callings to keep up on upgrades and other such.

If they keep this up, they are going to design this expansion into being bad. Someone stop them from themselves.

That’s the only anima gain that was nerfed to my knowledge, and it was because it was way more than what the other Covenants got.

and design it into massive unsubs.

There was literally 2-3 of those 2 days ago.

Maybe they are still around but I haven’t seen them for a while, so at the very least a knob was turned and their frequency of showing up was nerfed.

You know you remember the beginning of this week’s reset where the 1k weekly took a lot longer to complete than it usually did. There’s a stark difference now and the past.

Ever since release, I’ve been able to do my 1K anima quest in a day, through the combination of the world boss, an elite 250 anima quest and others (maybe even the dungeon quests.)

This week, nope.

Seriously, Blizz… people aren’t going to put up with this for long. Already people are getting tired of world questing due to the tedium and the lack of a flight whistle. Now you’re killing whatever desire is left with these awful 35 anima quests that barely add up.

You need to fix this and make world questing MORE desirable, not less.

I haven’t noticed any decrease in frequency. 4x35s have never been that common. There’s a whole bunch of 3x35s that popped yesterday to today too.

Still took less than 3-4 hours for me at reset. Until you have actual proof for this besides anecdotal evidence, you’re just spreading conspiracies of “nerfs”. And for that record, the Necrolord anima “nerf” was recorded, and in the patch notes. Maybe try reading those first next time.

I think one of the problems is the conduit ilvls went up so there are a lot of WQs offering those instead of anima. So until we collect all those we will have a bunch of conduit rewards that could otherwise be anima.

But I also noticed that a lot of quests are offering only 35 anima, so that’s part of it too.

its not supposed to be done in a hour, thats why its a weekly.

Pretty sure I did 4 or 5 WQs between Revendreth and Ardenweald yesterday with 3x 35 as the reward. Either way, RNG is RNG, we’re bound to hit the odd day where more Anima is available, and we’re bound to get the odd day where half of the WQs decide to offer gear and gold.

No need to check for a week, Blizzard specifically noted this change in their hotfixes. It’s intended.

As far as the low anima this week, it’s only been this week. It’s a bit early to scream NERF although Blizzard has certainly turned players into cynics, so it’s understandable. It could just be a bug/break in their system – this expansion was clearly pushed out before its time; I reckon we’ll see a lot of random bugs pop up.

If next week we’re still in low anima mode, then the stealth nerf conspiracies will have more weight.

Exactly. We go 2 days without a 4x35 WQ and OP starts crying “OMG STEALTH NERF!!!1”. Ridiculous.

This week isn’t the abnormality. If anything, it was last week because there was about 3x 250 anima elite WQs that popped. This week seems to have gone back to the average of 1-ish, comparable to previous weeks.

I’d hardly count OP as a reliable narrator anyway, seeing as he somehow didn’t notice the 4x35 anima WQ 2 days ago and claimed there was none, and plain didn’t read patch notes either about the Necrolord fix.

Correct. It was brought in line with other Covenants.

These were always rare but still exist.

These dribble-based “currency” systems are never fun.

I have been ignoring anima for weeks on this toon - not really interested in it.

If my M+ play hits a wall because of non-M+ stuff, I’ll just stop playing the game.

It’s really up to Bliz, and only Bliz, to make sure M+ is self-sufficient as it is the only aspect of the game I find fun at all.

This happened in 8.3 and I left for several months rather than grind currency. They BROKE m+ because corruption was required to do it well. If they do that here, i’m done.

Now, Soul Ash for leggos - that worked for me. Beat torghast layer 8 solo for a few weeks and got my leggo. Now I’m done and happy enough.

Good news for you then! Anima has nearly zero effect on any end-game content. Unless you need ilvl 197 anima gear for some reason, everything else that anima can be spent on is only for cosmetics or trash crafting materials.

Feel free to continue skipping it. Well, besides for the weekly Renown quest for 1k anima, but that can be easily done within a few hours to a day.

I feel you. I logged in after resets saw same wq’s from yesterday still up on all 3 of my 60’s, I then logged out. Before we we’re getting 700-1k a day worth of anima now that’s cut down. I just don’t see any reason to log into game anymore.

In BFA I had 14 120’s did wq’s and all my emissaries on all of them. I have 2 other toons I’m leveling and have stopped, I just can’t stand to do the SAME content in SAME order over and over. SL to me is worse expac, I just don’t find it fun or engaging like past expacs.

I know all the Blizzard fan boys will be along soon defending the xpac saying it is best and people who don’t like it should quit. The 1% that like to grind and do the hard content that’s fine, but for others, it’s not fun and that is WAY more than the 1% defending this xpac.

There has been an increase in crap rewards from WQ’s. Substandard gear or silly amounts of cash that I can collect faster while gathering.

I think it was this week where Bastion only had gear drops in all of the WQ when I logged on.

I am mount collector and all the mounts from other parts of halls require large amounts of anima to buy the pets/mount and lets not get started on upgrading your hall.

Maybe for you it isn’t important but to others it is, maybe, just maybe some people are NOT interested in end-game content because where they live and the lag they can’t raid or do high M+ keys or are older and not into end game stuff but other parts that ARE there for people?

Yea, I noticed it too. No more House of Eyes and the WQ were pretty steadily 3 35 tokens with the occasional 2 tokens. Now I see the rare 4 at 35 but I see a lot more that just give a single 35 token.

I’ve adjusted my strategy to just doing the phone game on alts and slowly collect anima across multiple characters to spread and conquer the purchasing of mounts and pets.
