It isnt. The very moment someone uses ad hominem, they’ve conceded. There must be an agenda here.
https://imgur.com/a/9J9M558 I’m having some pretty good BGs in the 20s bracket so far, not these GY camped matches despite being a leveler.
I experienced a twink group in a bg today on my level 119 Horde hunter. Thought I’d do one for a bit of extra experience and wow, did that prove to be a bad move.
There was one Alliance druid, in Balance spec, with an ilevel of 315 at 119 (and thats the toon’s actual level, I checked it on armory), equipped with excellent gear items from those dragons from the event and geared up the yingyang. They weren’t even really trying to cap the Horde flag, just attack us when we tried and camping the respawn spot.
At which point I decided I didn’t really care to be farmed on my 252 ilevel hunter and I dropped the bg.
I get that anyone can gear up and it certainly takes dedication and effort to do that, and more grats to them for making the effort to improve themselves. I just think its unfortunate that anyone like myself who might want to just try out a big in the 111-119 range has zero chance of getting any sort of win against a group who are all similarly set up. It makes the whole experience a pure waste of my time. Its really the equivalent of playing against a character in a level range above mine.
I think its time to reinstate the separation of characters who have experience turned off from normal characters, if only to give both sides of the equation an equal opportunity to play in their own sandbox. If the reason for turning of exp is to farm normal players at very little risk to themselves, that defeats any real reason for anybody else to play in a bg. If enough people do it, only twinks will be taking part in bgs and anyone not able to work on their characters in similar ways will be effectively locked out.
Bad BGs are going to happen regardless of twinks in the match or not. I see no reason to separate the players honestly.
I gave you the reasons why. It has zero to do with how well you play. I am pretty good as a hunter and I know the methods of pvp in battlegrounds, but when you are being slammed by multiple characters who are geared 60 or more ilevels above you, at the same level, and in a group of similar characters, skill has very little to do with it.
The reason battlegrounds were divided up they way they were, and scaling up to x9 within that zone was done was to give all players within that range a more-or-less equal chance, after which is depended entirely on their ability. But how can a level 111 character, for example, with gear they have made or gained from normal game activity, hope to have any chance against someone who has levelled to 119, frozen their character, then gained gear available only to that level character.
It’s low level BGs. Skill has nothing to do with them anyway. I am performing far better on my Druid than my Lock just due to how the classes are at low levels.
Considering BGs are a team activity, you hope your team performs well.
Are we seeing a NEW Jugga?
111-119 is rife with people using that anniversary gear. I’ve seen a Vengeance DH have 170k+ HP in that bracket because of said gear. Easily one of the worst brackets as far as balance goes.
IMO It’s ridiculous and indefensible to have an advantage that large, but people will try to defend it anyway. No amount of personal or team-wide skill is going to beat someone who just plainly outgears you by such a huge margin.
giving 330 gear to sub-120’s was a massive mistake.
If you were within said bracket…could you not do the anniversary gear as well?
During the anniversary? Sure. I’d eventually level out of the bracket though. Fairly quickly as well, since I’d be 119.
(EDIT: I’m not actually sure if the 330’s were only available to 119’s, I didn’t actually level during the anniversary so I have no idea if the items scaled or not. I assume they did, but I have nothing to back that assumption up.)
The anniversary isn’t going on anymore, and the people with 330’s at 119 aren’t leveling out of the bracket. They are at an advantage with incredibly strong gear that is no longer obtainable.
I’m sure that those were relevant when the anniversary was going on and could ….level just as quickly?
I mean, you get almost a level, win or lose…….what’s your point? Take the loss and move on. It’s not like you’re trying to be a bg hero… you just want the levels right?
I fail to see the point here. I legitimately don’t understand what this means.
I like BGs that are fun. Having the BG decided by a handful of people with wildly overpowered gear isn’t fun.
But do they need to be fun or are they serving a purpose… getting to 120 as pain- free as possible?
Yes. That’s kind of the goal of a video game.
So, you want your cake and eat it too…?
Again, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
What part do you not understand? Having the exp given to you by twinks or not getting the exp to level? You clearly want to level by bg’s, however, you also want to be a bg hero? I am confused by what YOU ACTUALLY WANT? I know that you might be confused too…
I don’t know how you managed to not know what I want from BGs when I said it as clear as possible.
I haven’t said anything to the opposite of that, nor have I said I “want to be a BG hero”, whatever that even means. Please don’t try and put words in my mouth or strawman me. I really, really dislike that.
I literally just want BGs below max to be enjoyable and (relatively) fair, twinks make that impossible. I don’t know how I can possibly make that more evident.
You said what though…?
Then help me understand what it is that you are exactly saying? I mean, you don’t feel as if you should gear up in a game that requires it, yet you want it to be fair? Perhaps the definition of fair eludes you. Perhaps you think that everyone should be on YOUR gearing level, when actually you should be striving to meet their level? Twinks don’t make that impossible, Blizzards class balancing make that impossible.
This is where I step out. It’s clear you either aren’t actually reading what I’m saying, or are purposely ignoring it to make… some kind of point? I’m honestly still confused as to what you’re on about.
Kangs agenda conspiracy confuses me less than you do.
