Blizz you gotta separate out XP-Off Twinking

then perhaps you need to go back and re-read the thread before it got locked.

yea, all nine of them. they loved it sooo much they agreed to do it once a week for one game if only lildude showed up. But alas, when he did show up, he usually just got online from 1v1 a whole class of 4th graders and only ran around the bg on his shaman. Lildude quit playing shortly after.

I did read the thread. Not sure what you’re getting at?

The rest of your comment could almost be taken seriously except for the fact that Lildude quit in BC when arena proved he wasn’t good at PVP and separation occurred in WotLK.

Agreed. And I’ve never really twinked in the level 9’s, but as a 70, I had no issues getting queues with my twinks.

I think you’re misinterpreting what I mean. And that’s okay! I haven’t really discussed the implications at length. I’ll try and sum it up here:

Before the separation was lifted, levelers could only face other levelers and twinks could only face other twinks. While it wasn’t perfect, gear disparity wasn’t too high
not unless their character was formerly a twink and they turned their experience back on. Which is negligible because they’d level out of the bracket in no time under the current system (probably just one BG, actually).

On the other hand, players with their experience turned off could only face other players that’ve done the same. Thus, queue times were pretty high. But they were facing people of relatively equal footing gear-wise.

Fast-forward to now, where twinks are back in leveling BGs (an intended alternative method of leveling, according to Blizzard), and the gear disparity is so high that the amount of twinks on your team typically determines the outcome. Thus, you feel useless if you’re not a twink yourself unless you’re fighting other levelers.

Now in the system I was proposing – where again, twinks and non-twinks could both queue – queue times are of no consequence, players can optionally choose to queue with gear/level relevance enabled/disabled, and others that wish to fight on skill alone would have that option. All with two buttons.

Now of course the one that’s gear-dependent would be far less popular amongst levelers because
well, their gear isn’t gonna be up to snuff, usually. And that’s okay! Those queues would take about as long as they had before, and twinks would have the “equalized” BGs as an option in the meanwhile.

No one’s fun being stomped out, twinks are in the same queues with everyone else. Voila!

Then we can get back to complaining about FotM classes. I kinda miss that being the worst issue. >_>

Edit: Should I just make a separate thread on these ideas to gain some constructive criticism?

Why are we randomly bringing up arena?

:woman_shrugging:

That it was quite the opposite of what you are claiming here. In fact, most of them are very against it.

That’s why he just ran around in ghost wolf in the bgs.

You seem very confused. Are you ok?

by your standards, I’m A-OK.

By my standards, you need a nap or something like

Album updated once more with my last game of 20-29s. I’m free of that torment for now.

Last game was actually fairly enjoyable and near even, as far as killing goes. The rest of the matches
 not so much.

Who knows, maybe it could work. From my point of view the “gear matters” queue would act exactly the same as the old version of xp-off queues, and bgs would rarely pop. Levelers with basic gear wouldn’t choose it, therefore drastically increasing the queue time, which in turn would cause those with good gear to join the “normalized” bgs just because they don’t want to sit around for 45+ mins waiting for a queue pop.

Aside from this, to be completely honest, the gear is just half the battle. My damage comes from utilities I buy off the auction house that helps me pwn faces. Saltwater/Third wind pots, drums, rage pots, swiftness potions, gliders, nets, invisibility pots, noggen elixir, flasks, oils etc etc. God knows if the casuals got their way they’d be on these forums the very next day complaining about utilities lol

70s had rated arenas and BGs for a good period of time, which was very attractive in building that bracket. However, there are other brackets than just the 70s. It’s nice that we were able to get games. Other brackets should be able to get into games too.

Perhaps if they brought ratings back for the lower levels it would give the folks that want lower level competition something to focus on.

Yeah, that’s what I meant before. I tried thinking around that
maybe offering extra incentives to queue for it, like bonus experience? I’d actually risk it then. Maybe it gives TRIPLE the experience. :joy:

Anywho, thanks for seeing where I’m coming from there. I think you’re right that it’d face longer queues times on average by default, but with time, I think that kind of system would gain popularity. I’m actually tempted to make another twink now thinking about it.

Well I mean, in that “equalized” BG or whatever it’d be called, I could see 'em being unusable in there. But with the fact that they’re openly accessible to everyone, maybe not? I’d rather be in a setting that’s the main complaint anyway, honestly.

I’d see no problem with that. 70’s arenas/BGs/etc. were fun as heck, would love to do 'em as a 19 or something.

3rd BG in the 20s, just dinged 22. 3-0, I’ve not really seen any toons that have stood out :woman_shrugging:

Back to talking about gear now? I mean it’s easily accessible too, right? Same with enchants?

No. An XP-off character could farm BiS gear and such whereas a leveler would level out of their respective bracket before becoming anywhere near BiS.
