Blizz, take some time, idc if its a raid tier

The issue of why they rush things, is specifically because of the people who barely do anything, and want WoW to release nothing content every week like the phone games they spend most of their time on.

it’s just logic. m+ is a source of gear, so people do it. take away that source of gear it falls back to raiding. more people would raid for their gear. there are those that do m+ because they enjoy it, and those are most often the players that run the highest keys, and that is always a minority.

there is no way to extrapolate accurately how many people run m+ for fun to once again act like you somehow know the motivation behind people playing the game is just silly. while i agree people pushing the highest keys do enjoy it ther are people who wont ever make it to a 10 that just enjoy playing with their friends got plenty of those in my casual guild. so to say the majority only does it for gear is just disingenuous unless you have some statistics to back it up.

Guess you weren’t playing warrior haha

I was playing shaman. Did not enjoy WotLK at all.

I’d say shammy havrnt enjoyed most expansions.
Most overlooked class in the game. From someone wbo doesn’t play one.

Wrong acronym.

After seeing the Priest changes in 11.0.5 or whatever it is I don’t think all the time in the world will help Blizzard. :joy:

You askin too much of em, ease up on em

This is nonsense rose-tinted tripe written by someone who clearly wasnt there.

I was there and the same nature of crying and whine threads existed back then…this spec is too OP, my spec is way too weak, nerf content, buff my rewards, etc

I mean most raids are recycled mechanics anyways I can think of maybe one unique mechanic this raid tier that hasn’t been done prior.

I’m willing to bet it wasnt that classes were so balanced back then, but rather there were some other things going on. For instance, the content was WAY easier, so much less complicated and demanding that people could get away with underperformance because it wasn’t as important to be perfect. Now some people are also playing close to perfect, and it perpetuates class imbalance even more.

LOL no.

WOTLK was not balanced. Remember with WOTLK:C had to nerf Summon Gargoyle into the ground because they did ungodly burst damage to the point it skewed data? Guess you don’t.

Cata wasn’t balanced either. Here’s 1 example → Moonkins were dogwater because they never re-buffed their tier set. Fire Mage being godkings is sure fun too. Demo Warlocks pet twisting is extremely powerful too. Blood DK still unkillable.

MOP balance was fueled by smart-healing. Remember when hybrid healers had raid cooldowns that out-healed healer cooldowns? I do.

MOP had challenge modes. Which was just a worse version of M+.

Yup. Bad box feature.

Technology played a big part. This is back when 30 fps was considered good, 60 fps was out of reach for many. And the ISPs were still upgrading infrastructure to move away from older phone lines and replacing it with broadband networking.

As you said, players were playing anywhere near perfect like they do today. Player skill has gone up overall, so a top 10% back then might be a top 25% now (90 → 75).

Mop did pretty good job it was not perfect but it was so close enough.

Just gotta reroll mage and use alter time to remove that hero spec from the game my friend. Looking at the DH changes compared to the mage changes was hilarious for the upcoming patch

Paladins and DKs were stupidly broken and OP in Lich King.

It was possible for Ret Paladins to be #1 in dps AND healing at the same time on boss fights in the early part of the expansion. I believe this was due to a change in the Seals.

Both classes dominated throughout most of the expansion, even with the inevitable nerfs.

BM Hunters were wrecking balls in PvP in the early part of the expansion… then they got over-nerfed and got neutered so bad that it took years of small buffs to get them back to average ranges.

if you want a really good laugh go compare the dh/mage changes from the prepatch (where classes got the majority of the non-hero talent changes for this expansion), then try to picture them added together with this patch’s changes. We’re half way through s1 and DH is still over here waiting on that “we hear you, there’s a big build coming” post for beta, lol.

Only a Mage would say that.

How about we make Fire, Arcane and Frost all bottom tier DPS for a full expansion. Then you can come back and we’ll think it credible when a Mage talks about balance being unnecessary. Druids, Warlocks, Rogues, Monks, Hunters, Paladins, pretty much all of them need help in some manner.

Meanwhile, your class no surprise is as usual outperforming EVERYONE else. Not by a little but by a massive margin, and it usually also includes every expansion a scenario where your class stole the best parts of other classes to add to your own (Like Arcane Charge. Arcane Charge? More like Shadow Orb.).

You get treated time and again like the Teachers pet time and again, and people are sick and tired of it.

and yet here you are saying it yourself:

the game does not revolve around M+. it revolves around quests. since day 1 of char creation, quests are being done till level cap. can’t even access M+ till level cap.
